Nope Vic I am leaving the Carnival queens floats to be very regal, I have another plan in mind, infact suggested by a very talented young man who was walking with my float.. so we shall see!
I loved it, and it seemed like the crowd did too :)

A huge batch of pictures now on our frontpage. Hopefully capturing the thrills and spills as it were. Sheli if you are about can you name the bands on show for me...in a comment on the frontpage. Not sure at this juncture if I know who's who.

A lot of positive comments from the customers but quite a few could not go because it was on Sunday and at teatime.

jan;
the streets were packed, and i'm sure if the carnival was on a saturday there would be people who would say they couldn't go because it was a saturday
Like all things you won't please everyone.

Most of the Big Carnivals are now on Sunday eg Margate but of course Deal is on a Thursday.As I said before we almost lost the Carnival last year and a select few with help from Deal came to rescue last years Carnival in 5 weeks.
This year the committee have worked hard and the work was rewarded all we need now is more floats,more people taking part and more spectators.
You also have to take into consideration traffic management. All Carnivals have to register the day when they want to hold a carnival.if that date has gone then you can't have it on that Day.
Dover Town Carnival as I understand it has been registered as the First Sunday in July.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

As John says Carnival is registered as the first Sunday in July for future years..
So our next Carnival is on Sunday 1st July 2012 - and I for one cant wait!!
So much so the entry forms have already been updated and are available by email from your truly
In addition to Carnival, Dover Carnival Court 2012 will be selected on 17th March 2012.
Great spread on both Regatta and Carnival in The Dover Mercury - thanks to them! Dover
Dover Express have put some pictures in and a small amount of editorial, but spelt Beddows Academy wrong - Claire Beddows runs a successful dance studio at the top of Folkestone Road and her new york themed entry was colourful and was a great asset to the parade.
Thanks again guys, now who wants an entry form????????
