Hi Guys,
Sorry for the delay in updating been off line for a while. Glad to see Jenni has updated you all.
Press Release today:
Dover Town Carnival Ltd are pleased to say that this years parade is shaping up to be a great one due to the sponsorship and support of local businesses and people. We are looking forward to a great weekend in Dover. The Court of Dover 2011 will be unveiling their new float at Regatta on Saturday where future princesses and queens will be invited to climb aboard for pictures.
The Parade itself includes two big bands, Bloco Fogo are a Steel band and were sponsored by Dover Town Council and The Haverettes are an award winning all girl marching band from Essex sponsored by DFDS Seaways. In addition we are expecting the 354 (Dover) Squadron ATC and their band and two Majorette groups The Medway Silver Stars and The Hawkinge Flyers.
So far we have approximately 17 entries from various businesses and groups throughout Dover and are expecting 8 visiting courts from around Kent. We are extremely pleased with the response this year. Coombe Valley Transport have been amazing as usual as have NT Rix Scaffolding who are both lending trucks this year.
Thank you for your continued support, entries can still be taken right up until 4.30pm on Sunday. Entry forms are available from Michelle Sheppard email
dovertowncarnival@hotmail.co.uk or call 07515 434649.

Well done Michelle and the rest of the committee,a brilliant turn out,I know how we nearly lost the Carnival last year and it was only pulled together in a few weeks and how much hard work has gone into the Carnival this year.
So on behalf of us all good job,I will see you near the end because I am working

The shop would have entered but we could not persuade the ladies to give up their Sunday off, I hope all goes well.

Wow, thanks for your comments guys. We have had a fantastic day and it was a real boost for us all to see so many people turn out and support Carnival and enjoying the sunshine. All in All a great end to a fantastic weekend and for once the sun shined on Dover at the right time.
We would also like to thank the Regatta Committee for accommodating us on Saturday with our Float, it was a great forum for us to promote Carnival and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We have a great team in Dover and with the support and backing of John Trickey and his fabulouse team in Deal we are hoping that Carnival will continue to thrive.
With Thanks from the Dover Town Carnival Committee xx

great stuff from the carnival organisers, must have taken a lot of blood sweat and tears to bring it back to its former glory.
