12:4675570Wow Jeanette, I saw this thread title and thought you was missing us all down there.

I don`t know who this kmfm gutter news is, but these surveys are absolutely meaningless, and they belong with the astrology mentality. The survey you mention above proves me right once again on survey`s.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

13:2975584What a load of rubbish. The people of Dover are some of the happiest and friendliest I know.

19 October 2010
13:3375586Have they been to Wolverhampton.......??!! Blimey - what questions were asked to get that outcome?

13:5875590Dover Is a happy place and its people on the whole are very friendly. But then you have the Politicians (Councilors) telling lies about Regeneration of this town, The District Council getting involved with the harbor board to squander thousands of pounds to what I can only describe as the biggest eyesore in the country.THE SEA FRONT.In This day and age are they going to take a cut in there Experiences NO they will most likely want more they do sod all as it is for this Town, the only time they want to know any of us is at voting time. When is this Country going to get a Politician or a Councilor who will be Straight with People. Not in my Life Time,Sorry Dover but thats how I see it.

14:0775592Good luck - and I mean it kindly! I have relatives there............but spare me your pity. Actually, I think it is quite different now to the Wolves I used to know as a kid, in what my own kids call The Old Days. I hope so...........

14:2175593We Dovorians are generally happy, kind and also very amusing people who have been shockingly and consistently let down by those in charge over several decades. But I sense that the worm is turning, slowly, at last. Witness the ire in the letters in last week's Dover Express, and the change in tone from the mighty Mr Dover, Terry Sutton, in his recent columns.
Dovorians and Dover deserve so much better. Dover should be Blighty's flagship town, not the tired, spirit-sapping mish-mash of dereliction and inertia which the town centre is at present.
Sort. It. Out. Please.

14:2475595Mr Taylor forgive me but what a miserable man you are.For your information Councillors are going to have a reduction in their expenses not experiences .I was dealing with a housing issuie at 9.00pm last evening i missed the best part of a TV programme .
Each morning Im at my computer before 8,00am and then the phone starts ringing ,
Dont blame councillors for the lazy people who throw litter every where and those who spend hours outside of pubs drinking .
There are many reasons why the regeneration of the DTIZ has not started .
Before you start shouting the odds on hear take the time to speak to us councillors .
I dont see millions waiting to be selec ted for the job of Councillor .Better off on the dole no doubt .

14:3175598I sat on the bus this morning and I remarked to my friend what a miserable lot of older people had boarded the bus .I then told her of the very polite young man attends the Grammar School for boys who last evening stood to one side to allow me to get off the bus ,before he followed me off .
So Mr Taylor treat people with a little respect and you will get it in return .Have you ever thought of going to Riverside.i was down there this morning for ameeting .Appprox fifty people enjoying themselves .Smiles everywhere .Must be doing something right .Still im only a nasty politician .

14:3375599I do get a bit cross when people have a pop at the young. My son (in his teens and in his 2nd year at Durham Uni) is a real, genuine, natural gentleman, as are his friends who are full of charm. You couldn't find nicer guys. he too would have shown you respect. (My girls are a bit more of a challenge, but I understand from all the other parents I speak to that this is not unusual.....!)

14:3675602Sadly I think the National politicians have further soured the relationship between the electorate the political and local reps. It is hard not to view all politicians with a jaundiced eye when so many of our elected members in the House stiffed us for so much, and the Lords and Ladies who continue to deny wrongdoing despite several trips to courts high and low and the clear evidence of the facts!!! You and other local reps will reap the backlash of that for some time to come, I fear.

14:4775603With items like this in the media is it any wonder that the powers that be are having problems getting big names to invest in our town.
With the attitude of some of the locals there can be little wonder that so few are coming forward for selection to the council.
Million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten.

you are in big trouble, when susan refers to someone as mr or mrs, it is the calm before the storm.
incidentally, how can you call our sea front an eyesore?
our crowning glory of the town, new designs, new sea sports centre, more seating, attractive lighting columns and now the hotel due to reopen.
