20:1168023a milliners too, they should have kept going.
our susan would have kept them in luxury.

20:1468025Not the Milliner Brothers?

Don't tell me they are treading all over Charlie's patch trying to create a "good society"? Makes a change, them having screwed up the last one.

20:1868030cannot blame the jewish twins for anything, can do in the future though.
my money is on another dave taking over, assuming that ed does not creep up on him with a heavy stone like in the original bible story.

22:0868043I vaguely remember Hattons, when we first moved to the area. That was before it became the indoor market for a short time in the 70's, I think.
I twigged, no mobiles back then.

10:5068095These old images are GREAT...couldn't they be enlarged onto the awful closed-up shop fronts in some way like onto hoardings etc.
Would sure make a great attraction for the tourists to see the new 'retro' Dover?
Oh Boy!, That'll be the day.........

10:5568096That would be good to see BuddyG - I am looking at the possibilities of doing a display at the old indoor market, not sure if it will come off though.....
Re Flashmans I also think I have seen them down as an Auctioneer and also a Funeral Director !!

16:3468142Another old one of Hattons. When the shop closed Bob bought some of the wood from the shop fittings to make our bookshelves.
Mid or early 1970s ?

20:3168179#16 I`d have thought very early 70s or even late 60s Kath, but just basing that on the clothes, which is all you can do I suppose? Paul, I enjoy seeing those old picture`s blended into the modern scene, well done mate.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

20:3868181Thanks Colin - every since seeing the "After the Battle" magazines with it's then and now format i have thought of this style of photo. Always hard to imagine standing somewhere and being able to look around and see what it would have been like 50/100 years ago. Wonder how long technology will take to be able to analyse images into a virtual historic view ?
