Howard.
I agree, their job is more difficult today, I know Jamie keeps an eye out on here but I thought a dedicated thread might produce more storylines for them to print, give them a bit of support and a nudge in the way which people want them to go?

The job of a reporter is to go out and report on a story or a happing etc not sit in a public building waiting for the story to come to him or sit in a office on a PC seeing what comes up on the local forum and then just copy it down and add his or her name at the end of it.That is not what reporting is all about. That not hard to do even I could do that

Vic.
Of course it is and I'm sure no reporter wants to sit in an office and have all stories come to them.
That's not what I said and not what I meant.
I meant, that when someone is putting on an event, pre-warning the Express with a PR that you have written because you know the details better than them, then that will help, both you and them.
A tip of or two about some scandal or a juicy rumour for them to follow up, will get them out of the office and I think a bit of help is more effective than a bit of criticism.

Gary, I think your idea is fine in principle but most (if not all) events both big and small where members are involved or know about are well publicised on here.
Another thing some members seem not to look at existing threads so most likely would not post on the sort of thread you mention.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Jan.
Yes point taken.
I suppose a bit of criticism will also keep them on their toes.

A good local paper would do more to get the info.
What does come out of all of this is that the Forum is first with the info anyway
and more inclusive
and better informed

Finally in a position to answer claims that no-one buys our paper anymore, the Dover Express was one of the best-performing paid-for weeklies in the country in 2013.

Jamie have a word with Dubris and tell him to share the ridicule out in his or her column between all the candidates in the up and coming election, Claire seems to get picked on every week.

So presumably other wannabees will become figures of fun then?

Goes with the territory Martin, this week I'm mentioned in a bit with Clair, still not sure which one of us is the figure of fun.
Lift your head above the parapet and it's there to be shot at, I absolutely guarantee in the next year I'll get far more than I give, not sure the others can say the same. I like Clair, she'll get no personal abuse from me, there's no need, the nonsense that her bosses are spouting says it all.
Yesterday Clair said that labour would turn the deficit into a surplus in the next parliament, it's an insult to the electorate but it's what she's been told to say, the apparatchiks around the country will be promising the same.
Anyway of more importance, how long has Timmy got left?

The rags is getting to expensive, and thinner, I am having to double it up in the cat litter box.
It will always be a Tory rag especially around election times ,so ukip will be getting it in the neck, when the rag gets its orders from its masters above.
It should do a political slot allowing all the candidates to have a say on issues of the day ,but that would be a bit to democratic.

I thought you and Charlie came out of the article untouched but hey, Tim does not even look like a boss, he commands no respect from any quarter, I have never seen Les Ferdinand even stand up yet let alone inspire anyone, we are rudderless. I fear for the NLD Sunday, could be a massacre. I really thought this was the season we moved on, another false dawn.

Not sure which article you refer to Martin, I'm on about dubris where I'm referred to as a floating voter! Its true I did say that to Clair, I'm determined to keep it light hearted.
I'm dreading sunday, I hold Levy 100% responsible for the mess we're in, its a shambles.

I think I just have to accept that female and socialist will be open house for the likes of Dubris, so banjo plucking Hawkeye it is then
I think that probably the Sherwood Clan were working against AVB and sucked Levy in with the disastrous consequence we have now. Sherwood should have cut his teeth in the lower divisions or even non league and earned the right to have a crack at the big job. Another change in the summer is a certainty now I reckon and another group of players, if the ground development has left any money in the pot? Never thought when I saw us at Wembley in 1961 complete the double that 53 years later we would still not have won the league again.
