actually kathy have you thought of a suitable punishment for the miscreant?
i would have suggested getting ray to go round and play his banjo but it might be described as a "cruel and unusual punishment".
I haven't seen the article (natch) so am talking through my skylight, but IF (as it has been implied) attention has been drawn to someones past, not in the public interest and pruriently, isn't that immoral? Journos need to remember (and care) that what is printed or on the internet stays there, whatever happens subsequently. It's somewhat sick.

Yes Kathy I know Simon is the editor. My remark was more general. I never know who writes or edits Dubris although I recognise that there are several styles of writing in it.

I like Dubris and the many times I have been in it over the years, only once did the wording upset me.
You put yourself out, Vic, and enjoy the publicity. Some don't, and suffer because of it.

the only time i can remember when dubris went too far was about 6 or 7 years ago when they were making references to well known people in town and their resemblances to characters from "wind in the willows".

Having suffered in the past when I wqas called Oiley, but I must admit the column has changed recently and apart from a few blips and a few nasty comments I think who ever does the column now has changed it.
I do think this weeks comments went to far but that is quite rare nowadays.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Howard, a few forward and backward rolls with some hammering on and pulling off never did anyone any harm!
My only complaint with Dubris is they never give quite enough clues to suss the id of the local worthies sending them risque jokes

Peter generally I do edit but obviously not from outside a bar in Bruges!! We all have different tastes and obviously the style of writing in Dubris depends on who writes each bit. Usually you can tall mine because I am taking the mickey out of myself!

why don't they ask that nice mr mcmullan to do a few investigations locally and publish his works on a freelance basis?
i bet they would sell a lot more copies.
