think you have that wrong jan, brian and alan are hardly left wing, much more of the "they're all in it for themselves" school of philosophy.
vic and alex are much further right than blue barry.

Howard swings both ways I think. Alexander is over the horizon to the right on most issues but is curiously anti-war. Vic is a socially conscious royalist which I guess puts him in the centre. And I'm not sure about Brian, but I suppose his pro-European stance puts him to the left.
Most people would put me to the right as well, Jan, although I am not a party member and never have been or will be.

I would most certainly place Brian and Alan on the left.

i think you are missing the point barry, if you were a red brian would take the blue point of view.
alan is most certainly anti everyone, you have only got to read his posts to see what he has said about all politicians in the past.

Brian
Should that read ''I am not sure about that''
or ''I am sure about that''?

I think therefore I am (not a Tory supporter)

Me! An anti-Tory sniper?!! I like to think that I am more of an anti-absolutist sniper. People who hold fixed views on whichever matter (politics, religion etc) worry me as a lack of open mindedness or tolerance of others' views feels dangerous to me. You only have to hear Sarah Palin's extremism to get a sense of what their blinkered perspectives could achieve should they ever acquire real power.
I don't believe there is one single answer to any issue but that maybe because it's comfortable on the fence!
I may appear anti-Tory but that's probably only because it's good fun lighting Barry W's touch paper every now and again

but I think he and I have a long enough history both on the Dover Web and on the Forum for him to understand this and take it in good part.
Maybe if I was to be cut open I would have 'Thatcher' written across my blue core

Quite right Mark - I enjoy our little jousting, its a lot more fun and satisfying than trying to get a proper conversation going with some people I will not name....
