Cherry picker in town today putting Christmas lights up on all the new lampposts, should look very effective when dark and barely noticeable by day, vastly better than the soggy tinsel of previous years. Good choice whoever was responsible.
Not so sure about the blue bows on council offices though.

Well I have seen it all now.Blue bows now adorn the DTC offices.Who in their
right mind thought this a good idea.A beautiful building sitting adjacent to the Maison Dieu within yards of Dover College and its glorious setting.Where is their taste.Personally it does not need Christmas decorations..Why is every thing tacky. No taste and a waste of money.
I have said many many times we will never aspire to be a Cheltham orGloucester.
Even my little country home town has more taste,Why don't they look at Deal and Sandwich..
I have bought more presents locally to help Dover but I do wonder at some of the elected members on the Town Council or is the Officers.

The Blue Bows look like Dog Bones, but fair enough, there has been enough to chew on this past year.
The rest looks like Bottle Brushes wrapped around the Lamp Posts.
They are giving the Townsfolk a good laugh.

Sue, I absolutely agree. Why is everything being painted blue? And as for desecrating our beautiful Council offices in such a way, smacks of self indulgence, and indeed a total waste of taxpayers money.
Surely they are answerable to the locals after crying austerity and before many urgent issues like the food banks, soup kitchens and homeless are addressed.

I thought there were restrictions on what can be done to a listed building.

Our daughter has a bow tie like that and one in red from her Mr potato head toys, maybe that's where the inspiration comes from!

#10. Maybe put a bow on the ceremonial outfit of any cllr or council employee suffering from conic fatigue . Some letters in the local press have expressed the amount of work being done by them . Despite all the efforts," Dover and Ashford are battling for the title of the worst place to live in, in UK in 2017. " Not my research.( Comment in inverted commas )It was part of a conversation overheard whilst sat having some refreshment and a well earned rest after a rather bracing walk in Folkestone accompanied by some rather special Gurkha friends. What felt like a race for me was practically marking time for them but the dog loved it.

Well I don't think the snowflakes would have shown up if they were white.
