07:0565297If it is starting at 6pm at Crabble, then it will be quite late by the time it gets to the Town Centre, so I can't see shops and cafe's staying open for that long - they may do; perhaps Spencer could visit businesses letting them know and asking if they will stay open and then publicise it.

09:3965317Whatever the route and start time, being a Sunday I can't see many people turning out to watch.
Whata mistaka to maka.

11:1465346Being so late in the season I wonder how many floats there will be, it could be a rather short procession.
I will let the shop know the new date tomorrow and see what the reaction is. I bet a lot of our old set-in-their-ways ladies will not be interested even if we can use the bus.

20:4765510The consensus from most of our regulers was amazement that if it was to be a Sunday, they would not bother with it.

21:3965512Usually arranged in conjunction with DDC Events committee, Kent Highways and Kent Police. There may not have been a choice of route or start time as that is often dictated to the association by the aforementioned group.

Firstly Sue ..... Where Do You Get Your Info???????
OKAY !!! As Sid Quite rightly said I have been in and out of hospital for over a month now... Not with My leg as was reported but with my arm...
Now Unfortunatly... And As I can see to the disgust of Some... My Top Priority For Once has not been carnival.... But My Own Health....
Those of You Who Actually Support Events In the Town Will Know That we have to work with hours of red tape... including this years decision by Police forces across the country now not policing such events....
Yes We were initially rescheduled for August Bank Holiday... But I was not planning to fall quite ill, and therefore sometimes I have to actually make myself a top priority.. and the carnival has been put back to SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 12TH to hopefully give me more time to recover....
I am still under major orders from the hospital.. I have to currently go every 2 days to get my injury re-packed and dressed, I am On a constant intake of tramadol to help with the pain, alongside dealing with a child who has quite severe epilepsy...
Now Not wanting to sound harsh peeps.... But if you want to do something constructive... don't sit on here moaning cus the date has been moved... most of you have my e-mail addy... try less talking and more action and offer to help...
The town moans when it doesn't have the events and yet they offer little or no support when they get them

14:1965569Mandie...
I am also sorry to hear about your problems. Having had discomfort or pain for over 25 years I know how it gets you down.
Back to the carnival. Don't the committee help you at all or are you one of those people who has to do everything themselves.
I would not have had to post here at all if the website had been kept up to date it still shows July 3rd as carnival day, which is not much help to potential visitors to the town they will think it is over and done with.
