I'm not sure if this subject has already been mentioned as I have been asked if the date for the Carnival has been moved to another date? September 15th has been mentioned. Can anyone please clarify

oh your joking i hope! thats too late in the yr
Mandie is the one to answer this, but I am fairly sure it will be onthe Saturday of August Bank Holiday, as that is the only date other associations usually have free in order to attend.

i thought it was bank holiday weekend, but checking the carnival website it shows july the third.
Mandie has been in and out of hospital for the past few weeks and I suppose the website is last thing on her mind to be honest. She has a problem with one of her legs and she is in almost constant pain. Hopefully the treatment she is getting will eventally have some effect.
I haven't seen Mandie to speak to for almost two years because of working aborad, but I'll try to find out for sure what the date is, but I'd be surprised if was other than the Bank Holiday Saturday.

Mandie posted in May:
"Hi All.... I have spoken At length this morning with Steve Noddings Of Kent police.... and due to a number of factors it has been decided to move the date of this years Dover Carnival from Saturday July 3rd to SATURDAY 28TH AUGUST 2010
The contributing factors were as follows.... World Cup is due to start soon... and the Quarter finals for this event will be taking place on the 2nd and 3rd July... Dover Carnival has previously fallen during the european cup quarter finals and it is safe to say... we might as well have not bothered having a parade.
The second and more important of the 2 factors is that Kent Highways have informed me that they are currently undertaking MASSIVE gas work repair in the Market Square area of town which WILL NOT be finished in time for the original date..
As Some of you know already... The area is also coming under yet new guide lines when it comes to manning of carnival parades as the police will no longer be in a position to help us in the way they have in the past....
rather than attempt a bosh job .. I felt it best to move the date so that there will be as little hinderance as possible.
Could you please pass this message to as Many people as possible Many thanks Mandie"
Been nice knowing you :)

The Age Concern shop was supposed to be taking part but as we no longer have the use of the bus we have had to pull out. Some of us oldies find the walk to long without a break, being the only sensible one I had planned to ride the whole way

.
We are hoping to decorate the shop window instead but that has not been settled yet.
Paul...
Do you know if the carnival is in the afternoon or early evening, nobody seems to know.

Not forgetting of course Roy Stone.
