With the 10th anniversary of 9/11 just gone, to all those nutface conspiracy theorists and bigoted racist t***s, do me a favour. Just for one day, shut the f**k up, go find someone you're grateful to have in your life, and hug them. Then spare a thought to the thousands of people who don't get that privilege because of what happened that day. It's not about s**t flinging, it's about giving a s**t about your fellow, squidgy, all-colour-and-sizes human for a change. You might even like it.
I saw this on Facebook. Had to censor it but you get the message. I think it is very true. Just hope it doesn't offend anyone. To all those who lost family or friends in that tragedy I would say listen to Josh Groban singing "To where you are", it's on youtube - very comforting.
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

"...thousands of people who don't get..."
Millions and counting.
The people of Iraq are and were our brothers and sisters too.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

I will sympathise with and remember those who died and who lost relatives in the 9/11 atrocity. I am finding myself quite uncomfortable with all the airtime that is being given to it, however.
The following is based on conservative estimates of CIVILIAN deaths:
Every 9.62 days, there is an equivalent amount of casualties in Iraq & Afghanistan as September 11th.
There are 1.61 Madrid bombings in Iraq & Afghanistan everyday.
In 11 days as many Iraqi & Afghani civilians are killed as the entire amount of American military personnel killed since the invasion of Afghanistan in 2002 and the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Every death is a tragedy. 9/11 and July bombings in London, along with the genocides in African nations, the Holocaust and all the other atrocities are just that, atrocities, and we need to recall them to prevent them.

Going back to post 1, got this definition from Urban dictionary:
"That the WTC was destroyed by controlled demolitions planted by Bush administration employees and/or agents of the Mossad is an example of a belief common at the nutroots level."

A death is a death. A murder is a murder. A soldier killer in Iraq, an innocent civilian killed in Afghanistan, or an investment banker killed on 9/11. In any rational analysis those lives are all worth precisely the same.
Wars happen partly because politicians and military leaders consider that 'their' lives are worth less than 'ours'. They are wrong.
And they happen partly because many countries end up with megalomaniacs in charge.
Here are some worthy quotes:
Anybody that wants the presidency so much that he'll spend two years organizing and campaigning for it is not to be trusted with that office. - David Broder
Any American who is prepared to run for president should automatically, by definition, be disqualified from ever doing so. - Gore Vidal
If you want to find a politician free of any influence, you can find Adolf Hitler, who made up his own mind. - Eugene Mc Carthy
I'm an optimist. But I'm an optimist who takes my raincoat - Harold Wilson
Well said.

Well said indeed... if you wiped out all diseases-someone would stand up for the right to catch one-and even volunteer to die for the cause...if you removed every single cause of war, someone would object and find one-saying that the piece maker was perpetrating a plot and deserved to die... you are dealing with human beings, who never learn and never will do unless you managed to dissolve all forms of culture and tribalism. Even if you did-someone would object and cause a war over it. Is there hope? No, because somebody would say I was wrong, object and cause a war over it...and ad infinitum.
So what do we do? Survive and carry on...
Never give up...
