Guzzler.
The Priory Forum wanted to have a "Community Day" at the Clarendon and Westbury Communty Hall on a Saturday - early afternoon, where we were going to invite everyone to a community get-together.
We (the PF) wrote to Sheila about booking a Saturday from about 12,30 (ish) to about 3pm (ish) but she came back and said there is no vacancy at all. This was back in last summer
The Priory Forum has no home, no premises to hold meetings or get-togethers, so we have to rely on co-operation and good-will from other local groups.
I'm not saying that there was no good will from CAWCA, but there has never been any advice that there may be a free date in so many weeks or months time.
I believe the problems are less one of immigrants and where they come from, but the very low standards of many of the people in this area. I'm not too worried about different people being here, but I do want an acceptance that "When in Rome" is a policy that should be upheld.
If you go to Australia, America, South Africa, France Spain or anywhere, you abide by those local laws and you don't try to bring that area, town, city, country, down.
Each country have their own laws and they need to be upheld/obeyed; in the U.K. we have laws and standards, but even our own indigenus people don't obey or uphold them, so how can we expect the immigrant population to do so ?
Education on what is expected - of anyone, should be the norm. If it is people coming here to live, then there should be set criteria - language, accommodation, jobs and behaviour etc.
The Folkestone Road and surrounding area (Clarendons etc.) need some serious work on all levels and that is why I have been investigating Selective Licensing and have asked DDC to follow it up with more investigations, as I seriously believe this is the main way to improve the standards - of everything and everyone.

Mightily heartening Sue.

Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.
