Yes a few years ago we were told the max of overseas immigrants staying in Dover would be 250 but we are well over 5000 now that is 1/4 of the the town wards ,it has to be stoped it far to much for a small town. and how many of them are working? I do not know, but it is killing off all the local community, and we have seen this happen already with Folkestone And Westbury Rd etc, somone must know if not why not?all I know we have far to many when you go down the town now it is hard to find any public that talk English and are English.

No Vic, I'm not saying you're right or wrong , I'm interested to know who has supplied you with the figure & the breakdown of whom is classified within that number.

It would be nice to know your source Vic.
While trying to find Vic's source via Google I found the following which makes rather disturbing reading.

Barry, I could not agree more but it does not help when potential visitors read such tosh, polite word as it is before the watershed.
#8 That is much better Howard.

No they are dead right,The Dover and District council need to try and put right the mess they and they only got us and the town in,read what I put in the press back in 2002 which I have still got,I said then at the Dover and and district planning meeting in my 3 min slot,if you go ahead with your plan of building just one block of one bedroom flates within two years the whole of Folkestone rd will go that way follow very soon after with the rest of the town wards going the same way. That has happen and that is where alot of the overseas immigrants were put,and some still there now all have familys.I do not blame them infact I would have done the same thing if I was in their shoes, it was down and still is the way the Dover and district is running it all,go to Deal go to Sandwich, even Folkestone ,yes they have immigrants but not like we have, they go around spiting and do not let the older one bye, they will not talk English, This is not their home it is ours what is left of it. And it must be stoped now if and I say if it is not already to late. Our own childern at school are being held back because some of their childern can not talk english and even schools are geting bad reports because they are not keeping up to the standards that the Goverment have set,it is not the schools it is not the teachers it is because of the mixed class rooms, that is where the hold up is.Most who have cars do not care about keeping to the 30ph around the town or parking they park on the paths they speed around the streets and the town, and we have no police day or night going round Somthing has to be done but what, its not about what party is in power, reds , yellow, ukip, blues ,none of them will stop it,the MPS of today are rubbish,I will write more later when I have calmed down. What do you all THINK? is it just a oldman talking out of place.? you tell me.

have to agree with much of the above but would stress the problems seem to stem from one particular nationality.
getting back to the website we have to remember that hardly anyone looks at it, complaints about asylum seekers, paras, squaddies, the britannia pub and then present day things suggests that it gets posted on once every few months.

I think Vic needs to get out and see more of the world if he thinks Dover is anything 'special' and see that there are places with a lot bigger 'problems' than Dover has.....

with regard to crime we are better off than the vast majority of towns and cities, anti-social behaviour probably the same.
anyone living in margate for example would love to have the problems we have here but we must strive to make dover better.

I wish I had not posted the link now and I feel a lot safer going out by myself in the dark in Dover than I would in many other places.

Thanks Jan (I think). Horrible website and horrible comments.
Vic. I believe the conversions of the lovely old family homes in Folkestone Road, were mainly done 2003 onwards and that is when the "Guidelines For Flat Conversions" were made.
I remember you and Keith.S. speaking at Planning committee meetings (me too as part of the committee) against these conversions, but sadly (in planning terms) there wasn't anything to stop them.
Greedy and unscrupulous landlords after income from those they let their new tiny units and HMOs to, have caused the problem, NOT DDC, Vic.
Dover is not perfect - we all know that, but it isn't as painted and is moving ahead. We can't send the immigrant population home Vic., but what we can do, is make sure that basic levels of behaviour (from children and adults) and speaking the English language, are met.
In many cases they can't win - if they are working, they're pinching our jobs, if they're not, they're taking our benefits.

I did not say you are not safe to do that. Even for the overseas immigrants themself it would help if there was less of them it would mean better housing and it would help them to get on with the ward or parish they live in.Please do not add words that I have not put.
