Why is it that UKIP done so well over the last week yet they are not saying lot about it in Dover by their own members.
They should be out now making it know and trying to win over more of the Dover public what they must not do is sit back thinking they will walk it next year.
They must now get out there and work their buts off to see a good return on what has happen.

With luck they are having a holiday and giving us a rest from the endless canvassing until nearer the election.

Mrs Higgins.
I did not think of that one and you are right.
This why I said some time ago five years in power is not long because two years of that is taken up by elections and getting ready for it . I think a election should be 8 years give more time for a party to get things changed over if the need be.
And also it would cut the cost of a election .

If I was still chairman by now I would have had cards made up and printed and how to join up,and put in doors even if I had to pay for them myself like before.
Two weeks from now what happen will be history and the public like the press would have moved on and any gains could be lost.

Momentum is indeed important, I believe UKIP are holding a meeting next week in Deal, hopefully one of their members will post exact details here.
More importantly they have to do more door-knocking, street stalls and the like which Clair and her team excel at.
A general election is very different to a European election.

Meeting after meeting does no good at all you have to get out onto the streets like the above post is saying.
You can have to many meetings all they do is take up time and hold any movment .
There is only one way and UKIP own leader knows that it is by going to the public not the public coming to you they will not do that in numbers,
Even our own Lord done that 100s of years ago walking and talking to the public in the end it cost him his life but here we are 2000 years on and he is still number one in the world so UKIP take notice of what I am telling you.

I just got out of the habit of checking in here, due to life/work etc. Been thinking of checking in here again lately and then after the elections I was curious to see what the reaction to them on here was.
I had to have a very hard think about how to vote in the elections. Despite the six foot long scroll that was the ballot paper, I had issues with all the parties. But in the end I went UKIP and am happy that I did. Farage is the most capable of the party leaders, and both the established political/media classes in this country and the Eurocrats needed a major shot across the bows. UKIP is not perfect, but I've yet to see a political party that is. Its a young party still finding its feet, and if it goes in the right direction it could be a major force for good and the rejuvenation of British politics. Boris Johnson describes it as a new peasants revolt; I'm proud to be a small part of such a thing! But I think UKIP needs to avoid being pigeon-holed as a party of the right. There are good ideas and lessons to be drawn from both left and right, maybe UKIP can transcend the tired old formulas of the political spectrum? We'll have to wait and see.

The above post is very good and well said sir.
As you know I played a small part in the party and miss it.
But it is the whole seen I will miss loved going out and around and getting up at meeting and I have taken part in all the elections apart from the EU one over the last 20years even been a candidate for the roll 0f MP two times .candidate in all parish and town and DISTRICT and county elections not done well but I have loved it all ,but I have to be sensible about it all and I have walked away from it all .
I see the roll out of a parish Cllr till the election and that is all.
UKIP will go on and get MPS and that will be good and it will be a big wake up call the reds and blues because both have let the UK down and some MPS have done things and acted in away that they should not have done and it has made it all very boring and the public have turn their backs on both of them and the yellows.
But with UKIP as a main player now they will have to watch their backs and pull their socks up or in eight years time when UKIP will be ready to take power that will happen. And we could end up with Mr fARAGE as PM.

Can Dover turnout a UKIP MP up till now I have been saying no it is asking to much to go from 1700votes to around the 21000 needed but after what we have seen over the pass two weeks that is closer to happing but they will need to burn the midnight oil a lot more then we are seeing at this time that can only be done by many hours seven days aweek out talking to the public telling them why that should happen and also they need backroom room workers to keep it all running along and building it up till the election.
They have a lot of catching up to do over less than a year it can be done but it will as I have already said take a lot of hard work .(You will only get out what you put in)that is a very old and true saying.
As a working person I have always try to do just that.
But sorry up till now I have not seen the hard work that is needed to get to that point.
But even after doing all the hard work it still might not happen as I and others only know to well but the party must never give up but keep fighting on like the leader has done

I just do not understand why they are not shouting from the roof tops and getting out there ,they are missing when they should be getting all their points over to the public,
Sorry but they need a person like myself who has done it all before and knows just what is needed.
I said some one like me but not me.

Personally I am glad they are not posting (whatever the reason) as I am sick and tired of hearing about UKIP, it seems they know when to keep quiet.

Mrs Higgins
Thank you for your good post yet again but all partys need to be getting out there now not just UKIP the only ones are the reds .
But UKIP do have the most ground to make up on the other two so need all the time they have left not on the forum but out in the towns and parishs.
Anyway that is not happing so not much more to say about it.
I must say I was hoping to see more members post about this one but just maybe they are feeling like you are.
