But the blame must be with the main party when in power for not listening to the voice of the public when in power and going ahead in their own way.
What ever party gets in next time the road will not be easy but I hope at last they have listen to the voice of the English public.
I think and hope that the party in power will be blue but they will not get my vote nor any party.
But if they do they must carryout the vote for coming or staying in the EU in 2017 by the public like they said would happen.

I was thinking of voting UKIP just to give Cameron some food for thought but if this is the standard of their candidates I shall reconsider. Absolutely appalling behaviour.

I think a lot of people will think that way. That one finger will cost many thousands of votes. Although nobody from UKIP has EVER bothered to knock on my door, if she should do so I would be tempted to greet her in like manner.

I agree Andy not the way to respond to a heckler, the correct behaviour would have been to ignore the photographer by turning her back.
Talk about an own goal publicity wise.

To be fair, Maria wasn't heckling she was dancing. The Ashford Christian Fellowship were out playing music and it was this that promoted the ukip candidate to start making comments to Maria about her weight!

A bit like Gordon Brown's 'bigoted woman' moment. The press still seek her out for political comment!

Sooooo, labour with the connivance of the conservatives pushed this country into what many call an illegal war. Labour, during their tenure managed to waste hundreds of billions on failed multi-million Pound projects, passed the climate change act which is the most expensive piece of legislation ever passed in the UK and has already led to the premature deaths of thousands during the winter months. All three political parties were caught out with many of their representatives stealing from the public purse by way of crooked expenses claims. Indeed some were jailed for their part in this scandal.
And yet someone belonging to a political party has been photographed displaying what the easily offended consider to be an obscene gesture. Some members of the public see this as a really, really serious offence against something or other.
Am I missing something here?

Fear not, Philip, those at whom the gesture was directed are delighted with their fifteen minutes of fame. Only the hand-wringers will have been genuinely offended on their behalf.

I have used my postal vote on this woman, something I now regret as I no longer consider her a suitable person to hold office if this is how she handles a bunch of silly hecklers.
I am not a hand-wringer by the way but at least this episode has taught me not to use my postal vote until the last moment.

I wasn't accusing you of being a hand-wringer Jan. I'm sure you have suffered far worse from charity shoplifters and pub customers in the old days!

So you vote according to personalities rather than the merits of party policy Jan?

Cheap shot Philip. Sometimes our idols turn out to have feet of clay. Just like the IPCC.

Yes Philip when it is a protest vote and "personalities" as you put it can reflect a party's attitude to the public.
