 - i am sure that peter is aware of how employers get around paying the minimum wage, simply contract an overseas agency who will then bring desperate people into the country to work at a pound or two an hour.

 - Of course there are many ways of getting around the minimum wage
more so in these desperate days.

people wil sadly work for less to keep a job, and undercut all the hard fought for conditions

 - Many instances of the undermining of the minimum wage occur in the Care field, with Local Authorities, it is said, being to blame by insisting on paying out only for the time spent on-task and nothing for travelling between clients.

Would it be these same Local Authorities that are being pressed to take over the policing of the Minimum Wage?...yes it is.

 - So what is spreading the appeal????

Well without doubt UKIP did well in the county elections, convincing people to protest vote which they did.

If you recall UKIP put out a leaflet stating once in county hall if they win any seats they will sort out the allowances
So what would that mean to you???
To me that would be a clear indication that they are not happy with the allowances being paid,
In reality at the first opportunity what did the ex Thanet conservative DEP leader do?) well once he dumped the tories ad got himself elected as a UKIP Cllr and then became the UKIP leader he then made his speech, given 7 minutes to speak, he spoke for just 2 minutes, any policies??/ no any plans for the big change no

just to say hi to everyone, and that he has so many friends in the conservative party!!!!
All this is on web cam so please don't just believe me.

On the allowances given the opportunity everyone expected a big imput from UKIP and its leader, what did he say???
no he didn't say lets reduce the allowances as he promised the electorate,
what he said was,,,,,, we have more cllrs than labour so our allowances should be higher than theres!!!!!!

No wonder 3 ex tories(now ukip) cllrs are seriously thinking of defecting back to the tories.

Im sure mr farrage is having nightmares over this lot.

I did visit UKIP's web site, and not all of it has been updated,

Mr Matcham is listed as a Cllr for UKIP if hes not a member how can that be???

Also most branch's list all its officials of the branch, all except Dover, which only lists Peter Ripley

And finally of course you recall the recent thanet tory leader jailed for illegal dealings in the property market
well, yes you guessed it,,,,,The present UKIP leader was the dep leader at the time!!!!

 - Keith S, allowances can't be reduced unless there is a majority decreeing it. -
UKIP do not have a majority, and you did not bother voting for UKIP!

 - Alexander
 nor would I ever.

whats interesting is that none of this is being challenged.

Whilst they don't have a majority, the leader of UKIP could have laid out his parties plans in his 7 minute report
instead he only used 2 minutes, and the 2 minutes taken up by stating how many friends he had in the tory party.

im sure those that those who put there faith in UKIP in the recent county elections will think twice next time.

 - some interesting points in post 125, ukip did indeed do very well locally - except in dover and deal of course but what is the point of them winning seats on county councils?

the electorate know them for their stance on europe, immigration, flat rate taxes and other things that have nothing to do with councils.

 - I do not blame Mr Ripley in what he has said because he only going on what he has been told,it is all to do with the running both at UKIP HQ and the Webb site they do not have the skilled staff in place to keep up with what has happen in the last 6 months or so,They did not expect the big swing of the public to the party that there was,As I said given the time it will be put right but a long way to go yet. When I was chairman I had the backup of a very good and skilled committee some of them been in UKIP from day one, they and myself would also help out on the funding to keep it going.I do not know of the setup now ,but having two new chairman within a few weeks of each other has not help them and are they skilled at running it like my team was, only time will tell, will they get out and about and door to door canving do they have a person in place to get funds in, again only time will tell . They will not come to me for help so I can say nomore.

That's correct. -
However, further up the page you claimed to know all about UKIP's County councillors in Kent! -
Now it transpires you don't know that much at all.
