UKIP Calls for Burka Ban.
- 2 February 2010 11:0439412For info, I currently work for an airline and have quite a bit of involvement with airport security. To wit, I have actually used the full body sanner at Heasthrow (while it was under test). Let me state quite categorically that there is no "looking at pictures of people naked" with this equipment.
What is actually seen is a form of human, unrecognisable as a specific person, declothed except for system generated "modesty wear". The Security person cannot identify the individual as there is no facial scanning involved. I confess to being slightly shocked when I saw the first image, but only at how accurate the technology was for seeing anything that may be secreted and used later for nefarious purposes.
There is again too much rag rubbish being printed about this subject, some by so-called "press security experts" who wouldn't know a CTX500 if it fell on their head. - 2 February 2010 11:5939416Admire away, should you wish to do so, Sid and everyone else too! No one is saying you shouldn't, and this certainly isn't a PC issue.
But you also ask, if the female form is dressed to catch your attention, whose fault is it? Ah, I'd probably ask then, exactly why females need to dress to attract male attention. Therein lies a can of worms!
Nevertheless, that question would make me wonder whether, if women are so doing, it is a completely free choice on their part, or a choice that is male-circumscribed (I said "circumscribed"! 
). As for "fault" - is it women's "fault" they dress to attract men? And if men are attracted, is that women's "fault" too? I'm not sure that this doesn't have its dangers .... ...
Anyway, if indeed women are at fault by dressing attractively for men, then I would suggest that we females can only apologise. Indeed, maybe we should go further, and perhaps in future we in our culture also should adopt more modesty in our dress!
