The bookies have May at 1/5 and Leadsom at 100/30. I would have thought Leadsom would appeal much more than May to the average Tory member and particularly as she was so instrumental in the successful 'Out' campaign. I might just have a wager based on the 100/30 odds.

Could well be worth a bet, I don't think the average member is impressed by Mrs May and in particular her support for Sharia law.

Peter Garstin wrote:Nobody asked us about the treaties of Maastricht, Nice or Lisbon. Perhaps if they had, we wouldn't be where we are now.
No-one was asked about initially entering what was then the EEC or 'Common Market'. There is a lot of talk about this being illegal.

The trouble is we know far too little about Leadsom; and far too much about May.

Just listened to the Chairman of the 1922 committee and he confirmed that Mrs May was new party leader but didn't actually say when she would be Prime Minister.

Have to hand it to Charlie committed himself to Dave on day 1 and eventually got rewarded with a place in the whip's office and a couple of other things. Along with Dave he backed the wrong horse over the Referendum and quickly switched his allegiance to Mrs May after Dave fell on his sword.
This evening when the announcement was made there was Charlie standing right close with a smug look on his boat race - expect another promotion soon.
