Yes Ross but the enduring narrative of the Israeli establishment for over 70 years has been that anti-Israeli=anti-Semitic. (A silly term because Arabs are also a Semitic race).

This one appears to be throwing Labour into the mix.
The wonder is how they will deal with it.

Push back or get pushed over. Labour gave in to the BoD and cancelled dissenters. Now, having found that publicly 'taking the knee' wasn't enough, Starmer does 'unconscious bias training'. As the party continues to tick every identity in the box marked 'rainbow', its own identity fades.

And while a government of egregious mediocrities presents empty nets, the 'forensically incisive' Starmer can't find a ball to kick.

I thought the theory was that all he has to do is spectate whilst the Tories pull the roof down on their own heads?

What must be worrying labour is those up North still appear to support boris as bad as he is.
People still don't have confidence in change

Button, that’s what Corbyn relied on and look where it got him.

It's not true that he's spectating, though; he's busy decking his great wooden edifice with colourful ribbons.
As for 'those up North' in KS's post #87. Indeed. The Tories in December didn't really need to do much to convince them; Labour's share of the vote up there was dropping long before Corbyn came along. They'll be shafted by the Tories, of course; just as they were ignored by Labour.
By the time Labour realises that woke purity is a blind alley the entrance will have been sealed up and it'll have no way out.

The Tories will self destruct, they always do. It's coming. Be positive KS

It is a vicious circle, both major parties have a habit of self destructing when they reach the top.
Long term damage all depends on how fast they fall, with Labour it started with Brown in charge then into freefall under Corbyn. I suspect Boris might have started the Tories off who follows him will either kill or cure.

Until Labour learns it lost the North because it disdains a largely conservative working-class, it's done for. Labour voters, and not just in the North, voted Conservative because they believed that Party legitimised their conservatism. If the government's behaviour in the last few months has not undeceived them, they'll stick with the Tories. If it has, they'll abstain. The more Labour obsesses with cancellations, pronouns, re-education, knee-taking and other gestures the more it moves further away from its base support.

It could also be said Labour seem not to realise that quite a few 'more free thinking southerners' have moved to the north since business has been encouraged to move to the area.

They should be 20 ahead!
And the EHRC report into antisemitism is (well the draft is) in. I wonder when it will be leaked.

It does not matter who is ahead or behind at the moment it only really matters when an election is looming.
