David;
You are aware my leanings are towards more to the left(although on some issues i can be seen as right wing as barryw)
Yes I'm critical of this cobbled together govt and the mouse, and yes i support the return of a democratic labour govt
but thats realy a wish list, as milly is being seen as a second tony blair(although lacking the same ability)
only time will tell if he shapes up, but david milly now back on the scene, im sure he will stoke things up.
Iv made it clear of my voting intentions

Eye read that, (regarding David Miliband):-
"According to the website TheyWorkForYou, the former foreign secretary has one of the worst attendance and voting records in the Commons, taking part in fewer than 46% of votes, and receiving answers to just two written questions (well below average x2). He had previously not spoken in the House since the 13th of July.
...according to the Register of Members Interests, he earned more than £416,000 from work outside parliament last year. The largest single payment was for his 15-days-a-year role as chairman and non-executive director of Sunderland AFC, but much of the rest came from speaking engagements at assorted think-tanks and conferences.
He earned more than £64,000 as a member of the Advisory Board of the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chatham House;£90,000 from the VantagePoint Cleantech Advisory Council of California;£15,300 for a speech at an Allianz event in London and £7,650 for a speech to the Malaysian Investment Development Authority, which was cancelled."
Now there is a TB mini-me if ever there was one.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Given that much of his earnings are from abroad for services rendered, may we therefore consider Milimajor an invisible export?

Football`s Tax Shame.....Premier clubs paid only £ 3 million Corporation Tax last year.
UK Premier clubs are awash with money.....stars are paid £ 250,000 ````per week `````and turnover of £ 2.2 Billion ....

Reg
another of the problems(probably as barryw hates most sports so much he will agree)
trouble is other smaller clubs go to the wall while the premier clubs outbid each other

most of the clubs run at a loss last time i heard, so that large quantities of corporation tax would not be due.
billionaires tend to buy them as an ego thing.

Ecclestone has defended Vettle the German F1 world champion against Ferrari objection to dangerous overtaking in the last
race of their year .....perhaps he is trying to curry favour with the German courts who are dealing with a criminal inquiry in
Munich.
Charges involve claims that a £ 27.5 million inducement was paid to a top executive of a State owned German Bank to ensure it
sold it`controlling stake in F1 to CVC Capital who had agreed to retain Ecclestone.
The cash came from Ecclestone allegedly and depending on the outcome of the criminal inquiry could end Ecclestone`s 40
year control of F1..

Osborne`s extra £ 77 million to rein in evasion but experts say the horse has bolted.
The extra staff for HMRC will not close the widening £ 32 Billion tax gap .....a case of too little too late......
Tax avoidance schemes by finance johnnies are sprouting up on a daily basis.........they really are the scourge of `true and fair`
Revenue......

The divide gets wider
we are not all in this together
big companies have proved they will stick 2 fingers up to the govt
until people power comes into play.

Do we know of any research that proves that the gap is widening? Or that the poor are getting poorer? You state this daily as a truism, but I really don't believe it.

Peter
I realise we(you) don't agree with me on most subjects
but it was on the box by well respected/researched geezers, that the divide gets wider and likely to get worse

The biggest difference between you and me, Keith, is that you believe what you see on tv, read in the Currant Bun and overhear on the bus, and I don't. Other than that we are actually not a million miles apart on many issues.
