Ross correct me if I am wrong. My understanding was individual shareholders voted against and the institutions voted for!

No - Many UK institutions voted against but overseas institutional and individual shareholders voted for. Perhaps from a distance and not caught up in a witch-hunt they had a clearer perspective specially as Barclays are one of the better run banks - mind you that is only relative to other banks.
Regardless of that, I fully approve of shareholders holding the executive to account and any exercise in shareholder opinion is good and would fully support strengthening their powers.

I am beginning to despair of any genuinely knowledgeable contributions. Speculation is useful, bit not when it is presented as absolute fact.

What is your obsession with the right to post? I think we have agreed that is the case, despite falling outs and disagreements. let's move on.

Pseudo, or gobbledegook, are terms used when people don't understand something. No shame in not understanding something, just ask or learn. But there is shame in rubbishing something just because it is not on your radar.
