Absolutely Jan and Howard.
It is something we instill in our children, the concept of leading by example. To not do so in the name of greed just disenfranchises society and dilutes the idea of cohesion. In an age of information, the resentment grows and this truly is a 'broken society'.
As for Jobs and Moore (not British as far as I am aware) they are people that we should all perhaps look at as products of their own merit, as opposed to members of a social elite, that merely perpetuate and self serve to their own cause.
These people have made themselves, been entrepreneurial and succeeded. I thought this is the sort of person that will save us from the financial hole we are currently in?

A better example of a highly successful CEO who "gets it" is Warren Buffet, who has always lived in a comparitively modest house, drives an average executive car and gives large chunks of his remuneration to charity

GaryC - You of course totally distort what I say and frankly it is not worth the dignity of a proper reply. Your personal attacks on me simply underline the paucity of any valid debating points you have on the specific issues.

Barry - welcome to the wonderful world of communication it really does not matter what you thought you were conveying with the words you chose to use, it is absolutely what the audience (in this case Gary) perceived as the message contained within those words.
In order to communicate effectively you must, without any bias, put yourself firmly in the shoes and head of your audience and then frame your communication in their context. Or of course you can carry on as you are...

Ross you sometimes infuriate me with your reasonableness. Here you go again. I enjoy Barry's spats with the left-leaning majority on the forum and would miss them if Barry wound his neck in.

i would not have thought we had a left leaning majority on here, in fact i would say it was slightly more right wing.

For information only.............................
Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
Diagnostic Features:
Narcissistic personality disorder is a condition characterized by an inflated sense of self-importance, need for admiration, extreme self-involvement, and lack of empathy for others. Individuals with this disorder are usually arrogantly self-assured and confident. They expect to be noticed as superior. Many highly successful individuals might be considered narcissistic. However, this disorder is only diagnosed when these behaviors become persistent and very disabling or distressing.
Complications:
Vulnerability in self-esteem makes individuals with this disorder very sensitive to criticism or defeat. Although they may not show it outwardly, criticism may haunt these individuals these individuals and may leave them feeling humiliated, degraded, hollow, and empty. They may react with disdain, rage, or defiant counterattack. Their social life is often impaired due to problems derived from entitlement, the need for admiration, and the relative disregard for the sensitivities of others. Though their excessive ambition and confidence may lead to high achievement; performance may be disrupted due to intolerance of criticism or defeat. Sometimes vocational functioning can be very low, reflecting an unwillingness to take a risk in competitive or other situations in which defeat is possible. Individuals with this disorder have special difficulties adjusting to growing old and losing their former ?superiority?.
