And much, a vast amount, needed to be deregulated Brian, the difference between her and Brown is that she knew where to draw the line. It really is a massive stretch of the imagination to blame her.

# 2961.......Joe Public....the ones who pay taxes.....not the ones who avoid paying taxes.......................
Rest of message.....
This is a great chance to shake up the banking sector. George Osborne and his allies are keen
to sell-off RBS as soon as possible. But it's big banks like RBS which got us into our current
economic crisis. Selling them off and returning to business as usual could lose us money and
miss a great opportunity to change the way our economy works for the better.
The Banking Commission has told Osborne to look at all the different options, from public ownership
right through to breaking it up into smaller local banks. If RBS is flogged off before the other options
are properly investigated, George Osborne could waste a huge opportunity for the UK.
Osborne would love to spin this announcement as good news. There's even talk of bribing people
with a one-off payment from the sale of the bank. [3] We can make sure he knows the plans will be
controversial and he'll face strong opposition.
The announcement is likely to come tonight. Sign the petition now:

New banker bonus boom: Payouts leapt 64% to new record when Osborne cut top-rate tax
to 45p in April
Disclosure provokes anger with Labour accusing David Cameron of giving a 'massive tax cut'
to millionaires
Bankers' bonuses leapt to record levels in April as the Government's cut in the top rate of income
tax came into effect, new figures revealed today.
The disclosure provoked anger with Labour accusing David Cameron of giving a "massive tax cut"
to millionaires in the City at a time when ordinary families are seeing their incomes shrink.
According to the Office for National Statistics, the average weekly bonus in the financial sector
was £143 in April - a rise of 64.4 per cent compared with April 2012.

Dolce and Gabbana sentenced to jail for tax dodge
"The pair were accused of having transferred control of their brands to a shell company in Luxembourg in 2004 and 2005 to avoid paying Italian taxes....Prosecutors had argued that setting up the Luxembourg company Gado -- an acronym of the surnames of the two designers -- while the company was operating out of Italy was a bid to defraud the state."

Footballers accused of exploiting tax relief scheme
• £264m Newcastle data centres lie untenanted
• Hodgson, Rooney and Wenger all invested
England manager, Roy Hodgson, right, and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney both invested
in Cobalt.
A £264m construction scheme whose investors include the England manager, Roy Hodgson, and other
celebrities does not have a single tenant signed up, more than two years after a controversial tax relief
deal was struck,
Margaret Hodge, chair of the Commons public accounts committee, said the lack of tenants for two
data centres on the Cobalt business estate near Newcastle fuelled the perception that the scheme
was aimed at tax avoidance. She said the enterprise zones that had enabled the tax relief should
have been about job creation, not exploited by "greedy individuals".
Hodgson, Arsenal's manager, Arsène Wenger, and the Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney
were among those who collectively invested to buy the buildings - The project's marketing brochure
promised a £1.66 "cash flow benefit"from £1 put in by investors.

Analysis: Economic recovery - a sprint that became a painful marathon
Chancellor George Osborne faced more questions over the nation's public finances today despite
a £3.2 billion Swiss tax windfall.
Under a deal struck with Swiss tax authorities, which came into force in January, the undeclared
deposits of UK residents held in Swiss banks**** became liable for taxation, heralding a big one-off****
payment. Switzerland made the first downpayment of £342 million in January with the rest of the cash,
estimated by the Office for Budget Responsibility at £3.2 billion, counted this month.

Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber al-Thani: The man who bought London
The capital already has its fair share of billionaires - but none richer than the new arrival from Qatar
A few years ago, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, is reputed to have quipped
that while he was running the country, it was his Prime Minister,
Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber al-Thani, who owned it.
Boris Johnson could easily say the same thing about Sheikh Jassim with regard to London,
where the 53-year-old Anglophile plutocrat, who owns some of the capital's most prestigious
addresses, is soon expected to take up more or less permanent residence.
In his position as the head of the Qatar Investment Authority - the sheikh is also foreign minister
for the moment - he has overseen the investment of billions of dollars of the sand-blasted
emirate's cash, generated by its enormous energy reserves.
Everywhere you look, the Qataris are there, with investments in 30 countries. In this country alone,
they have big stakes in some of the London Stock Exchange's aristocracy
including Sainsbury's, Barclays, Shell and the Stock Exchange itself.......
