Lammy to me is just a professional black man and uses the slave trade and past colonialism as a way of making himself look like a victim. Black people make up under 20% of his constituency and I am sure that they along with all other colours and flavours living there would rather he worked to solve the deprivation and run down housing in the constituency instead of having a dig at Comic Relief personalities.

Looking at the hundreds of thousands of mostly white middle-aged people who turned out for the 'Great March against Democracy', I was heartened to see that so many have finally woken up to the danger of giving the lower orders a chance to have a say in their future with the Brexit referendum.
Our betters - Parliament, CBI, metropolitan-elite etc obviously know what is best for us and have our interests at heart.
We can only pray that even at this late hour they can reverse the mandate of the British people or at least give us a chance to vote again and again until we get the correct result.

I wonder what Burke would have made of our Charlie who championed leaving the EU when UKIP posed a threat in 2015. When the Referendum was called he campaigned to remain and when confronted with the local result immediately turned on his heels and declared his love for a cliff edge leaving party.

I expect privately he is still a Remainer but at least Charlie campaigns for what the majority of his constituents voted for, unlike many MPs up in Westminster who are blatantly ignoring their constituents wishes every time they vote on a Brexit issue.

I had previously not wanted a second referendum. However, it is now clear that it is was so missold - that it is a perfectly reasonable outcome. If you agree to buy the perfect house but later in the process are told that the survey shows it is riddled with damp, is the subject of a boundary dispute and suffers with subsidence, you would pull out, right? Change your mind? Why should the Referendum be any different? And if you decide that despite all of those warnings, you still want to proceed, that option is nonetheless available in any event. So, why the drama?

Well, the trouble with that analogy is that you already know that no house is ever perfect (and this one's centuries old), but it's in such a glorious location, and that subsidence is only a bit of heave, and the damp's just condensation, and as for that boundary dispute, well it's just a bit of rough land the foxes use for a path. So you go ahead anyway, because if you don't you know your fussy husband will want a separate damp survey, and then perhaps an electrical survey, and then perhaps that little bit of falling render might justify a re-negotiation of the asking price, and there's that repointing under the bay window...

The PM remains in her job despite the fact she has the confidence of hardly anybody. The stamina of all involved, here and in Brussels, is quite remarkable with events happening 7 days a week day and night with still no sign of the deadlock being broken. I thought the Chancellor did a good job in calming things down and there is still the lure of £20 billion to be spent on public services if the deal on offer gets voted through.

I have always wanted a friendly deal but having lost all patience with all those who are doing their best to scupper any deal, given the choice I now would pick no deal is far better than keep on the way we have.

The only people trying to scupper this deal are the so called ERG. It was agreed between the UK and EU on November 27th and (to quote the sainted Theresa) nothing has changed.
The only accurate house purchase analogy would be when you discover that the estate agent has lied through their back teeth and you were dumb enough not to be able to see through it.

I sense you're getting a tad steamed up, Reg. Not good. Is it because, like so many other Brexiteers, you finally noticed that people are beginning to see through the web of bullshine they've been sold?
Don't worry, fella. For what it's worth, I've come round to the view that we'll be out on April 12th which no doubt will make you and others of your limited persuasion happy. Oh how you'll gloat, I'm sure. But it won't last long. People will soon begin to see what the real result of this vanity driven act of self mutilation really means. And that's before we even start thinking about a trade deal with the world's largest trading bloc.
Come back on here in a few months time when you've actually got some facts to your argument. Then we'll see who's talking crap.

Been reading through the options facing our esteemed MPs, none of course will please everybody and I came down on staying in the Customs Union. This would mean we don't pay into the EU budget or accept their new laws. The only downside I can see is that we couldn't do any separate trade deals.
Businesses and workers can carry on as before.
