Someone really ought to write to the Health Secretary to express strong disapproval of his assuming responsibility for care home shopping. Me, I'll be happy with a badge.

Forget what 'tigger' Hancock may tell you. Here's an account from the real world. It's backed-up by hundreds of similar stories everyday through all media streams. But, hey, the buck can't possibly stop with the 'gummint' can it?

A director of a private limited company, in my opinion, should not expect to be tested free of charge for the Coronavirus ahead of
genuine frontline workers.
His contact with people who may have Coronavirus is no different from others who are currently in contact with the general public on a day to day basis, who are also less able than his Company may be to pay for Coronavirus testing.
Knocking the government is a disgraceful pastime for many, who should know better, in these troubled times.

Do nothing and nothing happens.

Latest model from Imperial. It's working. We've got it on the run.

#367 Yes. He is a director of a private company but the point is that he is a frontline triage contractor at an underused testing site.
As for your comments about knocking the government, are you really saying that they should be beyond scrutiny? There is none so blind as those who will not see. Perhaps read a follow up article from (of all sources) the Daily Borisgraph. Perhaps they are pursuing a disgraceful pastime too?

I can cut and paste from another source if you can't get through the paywall. The testing stategy (or to be more accurate, lack of testing strategy) is an abject failure. No amount of ideology will change that.

Of course the Government will have got and will get things wrong they were/are dealing with something that no one could have predicted and certainly would not have prepared for. Hindsight is a wonderful thing

.
This is not the time for people to play party politics

. It is the time for
all parties and their supporters to work together, any other strategy is an insult to all those who have so sadly died.

#371. We are not discussing hindsight. The critical importance of testing has been established for weeks. And this is not political point scoring. We are still in the position where more will die if a flawed strategy is not recognised and changed. Maybe watching tonight's Question Time will convince you, even if I can't.

#374 Karl, old bean, the question is more when will it be safe to have a haircut again (unless you're a government minister). The answer might just include an element of testing. Oh sorry. There I go political point scoring again.

If you should gift the cat your tongue in troubled times then your tongue's more gristle than meat, and the cat may as well have it anyway.

Of course it is hindsight, if we as a country had known how bad it would be for us every single thing would have been ready.
A shame that those so entrenched in their views can not see or is it understand the bigger picture, so no point in continuing with this.

indeed.
I said it was all about showing off on faceache didn't I. Uplifting the neighbours my arse. It's all about "look at me". You'll notice from the footage that most households stayed indoors. Actions speak louder than words and all that, though it would be hard to be louder than this bloke.
Why should the whole town have to listen to his nonsense?
I would leave a comment under the above coverage to such effect, but the last time I did something like that (using a pseudonym (natch)) said comment ended up being printed in the Dover Express with my real name and address printed in bold underneath it.
I pray that it pours down. Probably still wouldn't stop him I'll bet.
