I can't understand why this has not been scheduled to take place overnight. Surely, this is the norm for resurfacing works when the traffic is quieter and therefore causes less disruption to town traffic. This goes on for the next nine days!

Perhaps the noise would be too much for nearby residents at night? the noise being generated by the resurfacing at the entrance to the Eastern Docks yesterday was horrendous.

the seafrance strike is and i repeat not affecting townwall/snargate street at the moment,as a matter of fact the traffic is light you think it was a sunday.

Only one Seafrance vessel involved I believe and P&O are taking up the tourist vehicles.

Noise nuisance for neighbours was not considered when the resurfaced Townwall Street at night a few years ago! I'm afraid our ability to cause disruption to thousands of people never ceases to amaze me. The Olympic Stadium may be ready for next year, but the roads, rails, airports .... me thinks not!

A thought following on from Kevin's post, was the road surface in a poor state that needed repairing or is this the likely route for the Olympic Flame

Interesting point Jan, I drive along York St most days and there are many worse roads in Dover.
