12:1386635I do TRY and find things folks will like, or CAN USE - local friends have had home made mince pies, small home made Christmas Cakes etc. which they always appreciate, or bottle of wine.
Two shirts my husband chose himself, from M & S, are 'slim fit' ones and are tight so have to be changed, he was not so slim as he thought !!
A chunk of very ripe stilton and bottle of port went down well Christmas evening !! Thankfully not too many calendars this year.
Charity shops are always grateful for unwanted items, or give them for tombola prizes for good causes.

Howard, I try to keep quiet about the wine cellar to preserve the stocks, if anybody asks I just say there was a structural fault resulting in a roof fall. The Rioja will be enjoyed by the Hoi Polloi
