19:1886530Not anything that I disliked, but I do now have four railway calenders, two identical!
I won't say by who, but in a previous years I was given a set of three extra large Y-fronts! I won't divulge what I wear, but definately not those and not that size.

19:5786539I always reckon on anything being bought for the house as being a personal preference of the occupant`s not for freinds or relatives to decide, hence we don`t buy household presents for others and many`s the present that got accidently broke over the years through me not wanting it even if the wife did.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

20:5186549this all reminds me of the jewish mother that buys her son two ties, one blue one red.
her son puts the the blue one on and his mum screams "what's wrong with the red one"?

18:2286607Wtih respect,I believe that the choosing of gifts is seldom done in the hope that the recipient will hate it.
Be gracious and grateful.

19:1486613The year after my father died my mother recycled some of his last Christmas presents, including a bottle of quite expensive after shave.
Unfortunately she gave it to my wife, wasn't even any use to me as I've had a beard for 40 years.

08:5886620I think that both Penny and Howard are missing the point here. I don't think anyone is being ungracious, just merely pointing out an oddity.
Surely there is some merit in the fact that we have chosen to pass them on so that they are put to good use.

10:0586625It should also be remembered that there are occasions where a gift is 'expected' and not really willingly given, I know I have been in that position and given the first thing that came into my head.

11:0386631Jan i shall make the trip up to say hello, with some gifts i got LAST year and havent used.. so hopefully will raise some pennies.
I was lucky this year, I got a professional knife set, and Mark got the block to go in it, more smellies than i can shake a stick at, and the other half and I are going shopping when we get some time off, to get him and i some bits and pieces, its not important this year and we can save some pennies too!
