Howard i spoke this morning to the Mayor of Deal the reason they have more bins within there town centre, is because apparently the contractors did not follow the plan of where they were all to be placed, they are not the responsibility of the Town Council it is either DDC or KCC.

With due respect Jan T.
What a load of rubbish you've been peddled.
Bin locations are historical and collected as the contract requires.
There is no difference in service collection between the towns as far as I'm aware.

Indeed, Howard as they do in Deal.
I have been chasing this up on Deal promenade.
This is about contract compliance.

Keith.
I beg to differ, a few have commented on what Deal people do for Deal but not what DDC has done for Deal over Dover, and/or Vice Versa?

paul
you mention partnerships regarding the sea sports centre and the promenade.
my understanding is that the promenade was financed by gordon and alistair with the "sea change" money.
i wasn't aware of any ddc money going into the sea sports centre, i may be wrong on this.

Howard, Sea Change was a partnership with EH, DDC & KCC. I think DDC total was a mininmum of £250k plus other services.
Sea Sports centre was DHB project but supported by KCC, SEEDA & DDC. I believe again DDC contributed more than £250k.
Partnership work tends to promote the main funders but others have to put the projects together & deliver the funding package.

thanks for info paul didn't doubt that a lot of work from d.d.c was involved.
i take it that the money from english heritage was direct from goverment.

No there was a government grant of £4m which had to be matched by other partners.
Obviously the EH contribution was directly applied to the Castle -new displays etc.
Other partners put in their contributions for transport links & promenade.
Sorry if a bit vague but I can't pull figures from the top of my head.

Sounds like Dover has got more out of DDC after all.
