20:2083496If you`re going to try burning the place down Jeanette, can you kindly wait till I`m there to record it all for our members to view please. Seriously though, I hope you didn`t sustain any damage (and you`re okay of course). I`m sure it wasn`t a pleasant experience. Hope to see you again soon.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

21:2383517Glad you are ok Jeanette, I ran the White horse for a short time between leaseholders, the brewery at that time, Whitbreads, expressly forbid me from using the open fires on the grounds that the chimney stacks were in bad repair.
The fire Ihad there was in the ancient electrics (since renewed) and the upstairs kitchen was gutted.

23:4083537Yes it is good news it was only a minor fire. This pub is an iconic dover landmark and we cannot afford to lose it

23:4383538I would not go that far in saying it was a minor fire Mr Bond but yes it was good that it was put out and that the pub is still open, and again you are dead right in saying it is a iconic Dover landmark and one that could not be replaced. Thank you for your post at this time of night.

08:3483540It would have been tragic if it had gotten hold of the pub - iconic indeed.
It must look (even more) lovely in there if an open fire was able to be had.
You'll have to find other ways to keep warm Jeanette - cuddle customers !

Take care!
