very striking indeed, sadly the steps are fenced off and weeds and litter cover the area.
i remember keith saying that he used the steps as a shortcut at one time.
your work will be cut out in making that into something that the public can enjoy, english heritage have put up a sign there fairly recently but i don't see them spending any more money on it.

WHPS do a few clearances of it a year once the spring comes round.
Small steps in the right direction, we have lights in the Redoubt, will shortly be working on the cookhouse roof and are currently looking at lottery grants to do some flooring and a handrail in the fort.....
