That is what I said.

I see that there are many here who are members of the 'sensitivity police' as one journalist rather too kindly described the kind of reaction this deserved jibe at Balls has provoked.
Mark - I do not look in as often at weekends, I have other things to do.
Bern - I need no specific expertise to know that the jibe is spot on. Cameron should not have apologised.
This incident would be like, say, Ian calling Howard a 'bald git' and me getting all upset and offended (or others on behalf of all is baldies...) So what? It does not matter. I can understand tourettes suffers not wanting to be associated with the obnoxious Balls (Peter!! LOL) but they (or others) really must 'get a life' and stop getting all worked up over such things.
The simple fact of course is that some politicians and fellow travellers see this a just a chance to have a go at Cameron hoping to get some votes out of tourettes suffers. It is an artificial and cretinous form of politics.

PAULB/ALL
I wasn't aware that mr Balls had got over a speeh problem and if that's correct then this cheap jibe at him is way below the belt.
We may not like the politics of mr balls or mr cameron, but you can see by
tourettes sufferers themselves that they are up in arms by mr cameron's com, ments.
also mr cameron himself was quick to apologise realising his bad error of judgement.
sadly just look in on a wednesday to prime ministers playtime questions and you will see had bad things are.
you are correct paulb mr blair who im no great fan of, was a slick operator and would never allow himself to get caught up in such insults.
mr cameron will be applauded for his apology but must think before he speaks
(as he said himself)

Cretinous politicians deserve no compassion Reg. All parties have some of them though Labour seems to excel in the cretin department.
Brian - read the post #23 and look at it in perspective.
"Bern - I need no specific expertise to know that the jibe is spot on. Cameron should not have apologised."
Can you not understand that to use a disability as a jibe is in itself offensive?

No more than in my example Bern of us 'disadvantaged' baldies. Like I say too many people are over-sensitive or politically motivated.
No, BarryW, it isn't a case of being a bit touchy feely about something, it is about supporting the discrimination and bullying of people because of disability or "difference". It is about turning a difference into a reason for abuse or a "jibe" that indicates that to be disabled is something to be ashamed of.

I might well be over-sensitive to heavy rain drops for the reason stated, but I hold this to be no sort of disadvantage.
Simply because I have a head of hair suited to a man of five-foot six or there abouts and have grown a few inches up through it, good old me, I say.
"many people are over-sensitive or politically motivated"
Well said Barry, yet more evidence that you have recently become 'self-aware'. Lets face it, you just don't want your pal Dave disparaged, no matter how much he himself does this very thing with both alacrity and frequency.
He is a snob.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Tom - I will disparage him for thing he deserves disparaging for. But not that. The jibe was aimed at Balls and because of his behaviour he well deserves it, it was not aimed at tourette sufferers at all, that is why it is not the bullying you refer to Bern. Context.
Absolutely wrong, Barry. The jibe implied that having Tourettes is something to be ashamed of. Using it as a term of abuse had clear implications for those who experience it. This was not about Ed Balls, this was about using a diagnosis as a weapon.
