I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

23:5869423Jan, if you are referring to the Church that fought back, forget it! There are enough houses for England's population! People should not try to convert churches into houses.
Furthermore, the people who built that church in the nineteenth century did so for the reason that it be a church. They also built many houses in that very same period for people to live in.
Now, England does not currently have a natural birth increase, and if we do have one, we can build new houses, without 'converting' churches, eh!

07:0569436Alexander, as far as I know, you are correct in that England does not have a natural birth increase; by "natural birth increase", I take it you mean from the indigenous people ? and our huge population increase is due to immigration ?
Immigration has been discussed many times on here and no sensible solution found, as being a part of the EU, means we cannot control EU migration. How do other Western Europe countries cope ?
Don't they have immigration controls so they aren't swamped ? We are a relatively small island fit to burst and cannot cope with the necessary cost of the infrastructure required - on financial cost and/or space.
Any talk of immigration control and out come the racist slurs.

07:1869439Immigration has always been here, nothing new, using the word SWAMPED hardly helps ROGER
I thnk the idea that only allowing in those that can prove to have been persecuted, or those with skills to offer is a way forward.
But sadly even this cobbled together government is going down the same road as the last.
Talking tough, but when you get behind what they are saying, they to are allowing it to continue

07:3269445I think the increase in immigration over the last 13/14 years could be classed as swamped Keith.
I do agree that the Coalition are not tackling the problem, but how can they with the current EU rules ?
We should have said no to new EU countries when they joined - 7 years I believe Germany, Italy and some other countries stated; we said, "no don't worry, send them all here" - and of course they did.
I am not one of the "England for the English" brigade, but we must change somehow and it must be real, meaningful change.
