08:4169292Today a Dr Jones has said on Sept 11th he will be organising a
'BURNING OF THE KORAN' ALTHOUGH he has been warned by the armed forces he will be putting troops at risk, he is clear he is going to go ahead with this.
Now. i have problems with this religion, but no more so than the christian or other religions.
Of course all have there problems

10:0769303It must be a very narrow minded and fanatical religious sect to want to burn the Koran, This is bound to cause even more problems for the USA and the followers of Islam.
I thought all religions respected each other inspite of their arguements, obviously not in this case.

10:0869305This is an extremely bad idea from a church minister (of all people) in Florida. it will certainly unleash an unholy backlash, but apart from any of that, its just not the right thing to do. The most sensible way forward for everybody always, is to try and respect the other guys religion. We have seen for years the consequence of not doing so in Northern Ireland. Use that NI situation as a bible study of how not to do things. These conflicts should be learned from so that we dont continually repeat yesterdays mistakes.

10:3169310the church is a small one with an even smaller congregation, seems to me that the looney vicar is looking for publicity that will attract armchair fanatics thus boosting the coffers.
some americans tend to be very good at joining sects.
i saw a documentary once on a fringe pentecostalist church in the deep south where they had taken the bible passage "they can handle serpents" literally.
the congregation got worked up into a frenzy singing hymns then they started handing round poisonous snakes to each other.

10:5469315Nice one Sid!
Agree with you Bern. The way forward cannot be to disrespect other people's religion and belief. After all, is that not exactly what some accuse other cultures of?

11:5469323As we all know, most Muslims, followers of Islam, are peaceful people, but the fanatics and fundamentalists, of which there is a never-ending supply, have absolutely no respect for Christianity and have said on many occasions that they want to wipe out Christians and Christianity and have Islam take over the World.
Doesn't sound like that is repect for another religion.

16:1369343The church featured on the news - you get the impression the minister involved is full of hate, and he even has a gun on his desk !!
It can only incite more hatred.

21:1969384Personally I think it is wrong to offend other people's religious convictions.
I get so downcast when I see demolished churches, or find a page on internet advertising churches for sale, for demolishing, for 'converting' in Britain.
I am proud of our Dovorian Church that fought back. It lost its roof, but stands there proudly and defiantly, the masonry intact! Deux lo veult!
Surely one day the Red Saint George Cross will be Flying proudly in the Court of that Church, on the White background, England's Banner!

21:4469393I get downcast when I see a perfectly good potential building convertion standing gutted and slowly decaying when there are so many in need of a home.
