I think the Town Team can quite rightly blow their own trumpets Reg (or, as those in the real world of business call it, Marketing). They have, after all, encouraged and bought business into Dover with the Bluebird Market. I suspect there will be a few comments along the lines of "well, that's easy" but if so, why was it not done before, successfully, by the Chamber of Commerce, DTC or DDC?
On a similar note, I'd like to mention Dover Sea Safari/Dover Sea Sports Centre as an example to those who'd like to snipe from behind their keyboards, not only have they bought a unique business to the sea front, they've reinvigorated a failing Sea Sports Centre AND are now running a similar operation in Folkestone.
I'll also mention local events firm "The Finishing Touches", who have managed to secure the contract to provide VIP services at the Folkestone Airshow - another example of proactive business from a local firm.
These people (and there will be others) are sticking their heads above the parapet for Dover - maybe it'll inspire others to do something similar, rather than bleat and moan...
