Actually Roger it is something we have been considering over the weekend and how we could fit a handrail on the main stairs without too much work. We need to go through full Scheduled Monument Consent, but one of our people came up with an idea which could make it possible.

a very good positive thread, good to see the grand shaft taking centre stage.
a valid point from roger, let's not forget that many cruise ship passengers would be grateful for a hand rail.
with the proposed new summer opening times they would be a prime target.
