14:0381286A book has also come out: Kent and Sussex scandals. It seems the author was looking for a new cover. Saw him at the Roundhouse theatre last week.

14:1281287Well here we are, North and South Korea breaking into open conflict, British troops giving their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan, a struggling economy, Vic Matcham running for every council seat going and all people want to worry about is a misplaced photo. Will this nonsense nit-picking ever end?
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

14:1981288This boob is also going to be on the BBC TV local news at 13.30.
Oh well as someone, can't remember who, once said there's no such thing as bad publicity, I bet lots of people have visited the website that might not have done so otherwise.

14:3681290I have been promoting Dover and Kent in some online articles. All the pictures on them (5 each) are of my own production, and can be found googling: Celtic Dover in Kent, and: Kent: how agriculture prevailed over industry.

14:4981292just seen mike webb interviewed on bbc, he is asking people to send him some nice free pictures of the cliffs to replace the other one on the website.
alex has already offered, how about our other snappers?
scotchie, colin, paulb ian spring to mind, must be others, it would be ironic if ray newsam sent the best one in.

15:0681296Excellent, Paul.
Town , Port & Garrison is the town emblem.
A clever photo would get all three and the White Cliffs.

15:1781298just one minor thing here paul, a picture of francis rossi in the top left hand corner would make it complete.

don;t worry about watty's politicalpoint scoring
just it does a bad error, and doesnt help the town council in the local or national communities.
some one should have spotted it

I seem to recall that you were told not to nit-pick over issues regarding the town, is this where you took the quote from?

17:3781323Chris, I would hardly call a tourist promotion picture of Dover's White Cliffs that then turns out not to be the White Cliffs of Dover, I quote, "nonsense nit-picking".
Paul, a really great picture and certainly much more informative than the rather boring original, even if it had been ok.
The Town Council advert on the Home Page is now out of date BTW.

00:5081389Chris, take my advice and lighten up a little. Everyone likes a little humour from time to time and official cock-ups are among the funniest. In a week or 2 all will be forgotten (except for Vic's face being on the crest?!) and we shall all move on. In short, the Status Quo will prevail.
