you haven't said what extra powers you think that the police and teachers should have.

howard;
i thought i had answered it all in post 18
but will try again
police; they don't realy need new powers but are up against a number of problems
a; prisons are full to over crowding so judges try hard not to jail people as
theres no where to send people
b; society isn't good and we need to change the climate created where by
children who dont look up and fear the police needs to change
The police need to be feared as at the moment seeing 8 and 9 year
olds in folkestone swear at police as a hello, is how far we have gone
c; problems society has is if the police come down hard they are accusse
of being to over the top, when they are softer we have people that
take advantage
teachers; teachers should be able to teach without fear recrimination for doing
the job they are paid to do
the compensation culture needs to go.
more disipline in schools
more support from parents when teachers take action
thatr would be a start

no keith detail the punitive measures that teachers and policepersons could deploy.

I agree with everything Keith has said above. It's how to achieve all that, that is the difficult part.

It's unachievable, Roger, as long as the social agenda is under the control of the bleeding-heart liberal PC brigade.

We could lump all the 'disruptive' schoolchildren into the House of Commons on a Wednesday and nobody would notice?

Or put them in the House of Lords and make the ignorant argument: 'they were born like it'.

The sad thing is there are children that cannot get an education, because adults have not provided a safe orderly controlled and well funded environment to learn.
This is the fault of the hand ringing liberals.
A police officer in London was chasing a suspect along a canal path.
This man turned on this officer with a machete, and butchered him.
This officer died because some useless liberal hand ringing politicians never gave this officer the equipment he needed to do the job and protect him self
I am not advocating some sort of out controlled police force, or child abuse
Just for liberals to face the facts, things need to change, before society goes completely down the pan.

Prisons need not be expensive, exploding electronic tags around the neck will do the job.

Sex. It's all about sex.
Certainly as far as the non-liberals are concerned. [I use the word 'liberal' though I have no clear notion as to what liberal actually means. I get no sense of what it could mean with all the different uses to which the word is put]
The Victorians, that age of excellence that so many desire to return, had much the same difficulty with crime and punishment as we seem hell-bent to reinvent.
Lets get back to the sex though. [Anything to keep your interest and hold it. - Hold it - You see, I've started already.]
Of what is a prisoner deprived?
Yea, you've guessed it.
Sex. Heterosexual sex, at any rate.
The Victorians, bless them, had the answer. What with their hard-labour and solitary confinement.
One man needs more money...he sacks a few workers and drives those remaining ever harder, and is accorded hero status.
Another needs some money, or the actual product that he has not the money to buy, he takes it, and is lost to the world.
I lied about the sex.
Fear is the driving force in this world, believe that. Or else!
Why not try living without fear...scary...eh?

It was easy to forget the dead policeman tom. That's very liberal

You're not helping with the definition of 'Liberal' Keith.
Forgetting about the living. What's that about?
