Thank you for postng allowing me to disagree again.
Firstly, Labour are not there on block as well you know, each councillor is elected each town council election and at this time there are more Labour town cl;lrs than the indies, on present form this is unlikely to change at any future election.
Please dont be fooled that the indies dont work as a party just the same as labour.
please dont insult posters.
With regard to political parties on town councils , when i questioned this with you when the tories are on Deal Town council and other town councils you said it would give labour a run for there money.
Well barryw you either do agree wth tories standing on town councl or you dont.
For my part, I would have no problem with truely indepent persons being on town council but that isnt and never wll be the case.
And if you believe coombe valley has any control over its town cllrs you are in cloud cuckoo land.
For my part i would like to see cllrs seen on a regular basis in the ward
we have 4 town cllrs here i see bobby and shiela the other two iv never seen in the ward
On the District
we have flyng visits from Mrs Revell and Roger we are aware of and marian munt is farly high profile in her own way
On the county same never seen hm
although have to add the ward very large

getting back to the issue of independent councillors, the big two parties have abused local authority money in the past, mainly in urban centres, the red with their community centres and forums to get the vote they wanted, the blues perpetrated one of, if not the worst one at westminster council, jerrymandering the housing to maximise their vote.

How about build a new home for Dover Athletic?
Right in the centre of town, generate lots of passing trade for the shops etc in the town centre, put the away end so it exits onto Townwall St making it easy to shift the away supporters to the station etc. without them going into town if that is needed

DDC might have a problem there, as it would be medling aroud with internal economic interests in Dover! If it were the Council's expressed intention to achieve that aim, they could be up for some constitutional problem.
