Just to add Pambrivio - the Town Clerk told us that the Town Hall was unavailable not DDC seems this lady has an awful lot of power for an unelected person.

Lyn ,it was DDC who told you the Town Hall was unavailable so don't blame Pam.You really need to understand which
Council does what.By the way where are the pictures.not on the VE Day Celebration page.

Couple of things here Lyn.
Firstly I am blocked along with many others from her Facebook utterings, her Facebook "friends" copy and paste the vile stuff some of which is litigious.
Secondly you said the Town Council was welcome now you say they are not. Which statement was true?

Apologies for any grown ups that may have been caught up in this, but more than enough tolerance has been allowed on this thread.

No Sue Nicholas it was the town clerk in DTC office, at the time of asking we did not know who was responsible for it, we do now. I would also like to know what you mean by "the truth will out" ? Howard enough of your utter rubbish if you can't tell the truth please keep out of this thread.

Maybe Bob should consider applying for the vacant Forum Editor's position if he wants to tell people what and where they can post. Real name would be required of course.

Sorry Brian you are barking up the wrong tree, in this case it is "Who is this masked man and how can we thank him".

I'm beginning to wonder if some of my neighbours are planning a street party for tomorrow (there is bunting).
They obviously have some kind of exemption from the guidelines or are otherwise immune I'm guessing, given how they're all hanging out in each others front gardens all day every day

VE Day Celebrations 1945
“Let us not forget the brave young men and women who fought
for the freedom of this country.”
Anon.
From this:
To this:
Covid -19 Isolation 2020
Vexatious Elderly Daze!. 2020
Lockdown must change a ‘think tank’ once said,
We need the workers to work, not laying in bed,
Change furloughs to furrows start earning your keep,
No job to return to? Then help our farmers to reap.
Send your children to school, they have lessons to learn,
They may carry the virus back home to the old and infirm,
But we must look after big business and shareholders greed,
Continue the lockdown for the over 70’s, now a naff breed!
We could corral the elderly with an instruction that will suck,
Then send persistent offenders from lockdown to lockup,
Convert the emptied care homes, buy their abodes for a song,
Thus providing more housing for the young and the strong.
Consider the struggles the oldies endured for your future before,
You regain the life you enjoyed, then slam shut their door!
The past, their past, is of no concern to you now they are old,
Just humour them briefly then tell them, “just do as you’re told!”
Bob W.
FREEDOM?!
" Can you regain the freedom for which we fought and died?
Or don’t you have the courage, or the faith to stand with pride?
Are there no more values for which you’ll fight to save?
Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave?"
Anon.

Groan. I hadn't considered that. We actually got a break this Sunday. I'm wondering if someone complained or if he was just on a shift. They were blasting out music on phones earlier.

Here's the deal TTWD, you leave a bundle of fivers in the first bin in Connaught Park and I don't contact the Primo Oumo and put in requests for such classics as Just One Cornetto, The Birdie Song, etc.

I know this makes me sound like a real grump but I simply can not get all enthusiastic about the bunting and celebrations when so many are still dying or ill with covid19.
