Valentine's Day
- 1 February 2012 23:41150971Ah! Valentines is coming around again! Its nice when it falls at a weekend as one can really get into the swing of things then, so to speak!
But looking at all the aches and pains above, I guess that at a certain age, one is content to snuggle up at home with the champagne and chocolates at the ready.
Hope your back gets better real soon Diana, I know only too well how painful that is and Jeane, hope you mend real soon too.
An early Happy Birthday to you Ian, I'm sure that Fran and your girls will spoil you on the night.

Hoping by now all above are feeling better and ready for a night of smouldering grinding passion. I thought this thread would be zapping along with all you romantics, but no...its died the death of a thousand cuts from all the thorns in them long prickly rose stems.
There we are you see....no politics in it and there we are...it drops out.
However all is not lost..reviving now the throbbing heart of the romantic.
Perhaps these Valentine Days are not what they were...what with last minute supermarket flowers, last minute low cost chocolates, and if you really really forget you can always pick up a few half dead and alive flowers on the garage forecourt. But dont tell the wife I told you about it!!
But are we downhearted...??

After searching for years for the perfect pressie for the Old Man every Valentines Day (he is so difficult to buy for!) this year I have bought him something I will enjoy myself - a book of poetry! It is a romantic gift that meets a need.........

Brian is right of course they do bump the prices up, I noticed on the restaurant vouchers which dropped through my door as mentioned on the other thread about 'restaurant closures' that they are not applicable today....so no bargains to be had today on the dining out front.
