"Doesn't seem long ago that this was a two day event."
That was when Barrie was in charge if I remember correctly, a great couple of days.

Royal Marines Concert 2017
Royal Marines Concert - Sunday 9th July 2017
Concert
The concert will commence at 2.30pm.
(Please note, this is a slight change of start time. In previous years the start time has been 2pm)
The first half of the concert will contain a variety of music. Programmes will be available for sale on the day.
There will be a short interval approximately 3.30pm.
The second half of the concert will include some more music, before moving into an act of remembrance and re-dedication service. The event will conclude with a rousing finale including Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory.
The concert will finish approximately 5.30pm
The concert is free to attend.
Seating
We have very limited seating available and, apart from a small number allocated to families and VIP's it is not possible to reserve seats. We therefore strongly recommend that people attending the event bring their own seating if required.
Rehearsals
The Band will be rehearsing and conducting sound checks on the Bandstand from approximately 11am to 1pm.
Pre-event entertainment
The band from the local Sea-Cadets will be performing between 1.30 to 2pm.
The Victory Wartime Band will be performing between 2pm and 2.20pm.
Programmes
Programmes for the concert will be on sale at the event and cost £2.
Fly-past
In previous years we have been privileged to have a fly past by aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The fly-past is confirmed for this year and will take place just prior to the commencement of the concert. Please note that the fly-past is always subject to weather conditions on the day.
Donations & Raffle
This event is free to attend, but as you will appreciate costs a considerable amount of money. There will be the opportunity for people attending to support the work of the Bandstand Trust by making donations and/or buying raffle tickets. Raffle tickets are on sale in the lead up to the concert and all through the 1st half of the concert. The draw will take place following the interval and winning tickets announced over the PA system. Any unclaimed prizes will be published on this website, our Facebook page, our Twitter account and in the following editions of the East Kent Mercury.
Parking at the event
Parking is available for disabled badge holders on Walmer Green to the south of the Lifeboat Station. There is no charge for this parking. There are no facilities for non-disabled parking. Please note that there is no parking for any vehicles on The Strand up to and during the event. There are also parking restrictions on Canada Road, Gladstone Road and North Barrack Road, as these roads are the diversion route due to The Strand being closed. No Waiting Cones will be placed in the restricted parking areas.
Local Authority Car Parks are free to park on a Sunday.
Toilets
There are public toilets located between the paddling pool and The Cedars Surgery, located close to the north of Walmer Green. Additional temporary toilets (including an easy access toilet) will be located on Walmer Green near to the Lifeboat Station.
Refreshments
Riverside Catering will be providing hot food and drink refreshment facilities as well as ice creams.
First Aid
Personnel from The Red Cross will be on site (located near the Lifeboat Station) to assist with any first aid needs.
Security
Kent Police will have conducted a search of the area prior to the event taking place and Police Community Support Officers will be on duty for the event. Any suspicious item or person should be reported to the police or a member of Deal Memorial Bandstand Trust immediately.
