I'm not sure who is responsible for this I was told but have forgotten, much the same problem in Pencester Gardens at the point one tries to cross the car park heading towards the Co-op, just moderate rainfall means wet feet.

More to the point, who is going to sort it out. and when?
We are like a Third World country. I have seen major landslides in Austria cleared in hours yet this drags on for years with no action.

One of our customers was highly amused yesterday to see an elderly lady on a mobility scooter attack the flood at full speed and emerge triumphant with a huge grin on her face.

A shame to see not everyone shares my passion for improving the town.

I checked with the Environment Agency when it happened last year, I was told it is Kent Highways but they contract out the pump maintenance - so first stop should be your county Cllr.

About time someone took the problem by the scruff of the neck.
I also understood the Highways Agency was responsible?

Isn't this the sort of problem our local MP should be tackling? After all, he's paid to do stuff like look after our environment.

No, this is councillors' territory.

Well it strikes me that this has been a problem for some considerable time now with no solution in sight therefore YES it is the responsibility of the local MP.

Don't expect to see Charlie over the next 5 years, Like all MP's he is under strict instruction to be there in case his vote his needed, only a 12 majority. Disappointed that in the last PMQ's he didn't speak about the Calais problems.

Flooded again. The contractor who has the contract for pumping it out is HydroCleansing of Croydon. How long does it take to get a pump truck from Croydon to Dover on the busiest ferry day of the year while Stack is implemented?

It was cleared by early evening. Next time it happens I shall ask the lads from the fire station to do it as an impromptu training exercise. With hundreds of people crossing the road and clambering over the central barrier there are clear public safety implications. Only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt (or worse) by an angry truck driver.
