this is all very machi, macchi, maccia - devious, i have read through ray's link twice and cannot see how it is appropriate to the issue and lost over reg's comment.
us urbanites are simple people that do not understand the satanic ways of the rural folk.

yep close your eyes nothing out theres realy happening
trouble is the rest see it is.
to get back to the the thread, it is always dangerous to cut off the cllr, they could be helpful in many ways.
but that said the cllr cannot feel or give the parish the impression it knows better
it should be about a good working relationship between both.
to not have this working relationship fails all in the parish.

Good luck, Sue.
As a former River boy, and generally speaking, I hate to see anyone vilified simply for caring.
Best wishes,
Andy

looking through this thread most agree that the parish council has made a wrong move.
could be time for a rethink from them.

Referring back to Vic's post #6, I have kept quiet but as that request has not been respected my thought is that this is possibly a pure clash of personalities between strong characters.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

it does look like a personality clash/clashes which cannot be to the benefit of river.
keith points out the importance of having district councillors on board to help press things forward.

I will still keep the Parish Council informed on matters which are relevant to the residents ,by email direct to the Chairman by Email.

What goes round comes round.
When you have stopped a person from speaking in public and then you yourself are
stopped from speaking in public.....it does not bode well for democracy...........
