As a stranger here myself, you and other poppers-in are a source of both colour and depth that bring the vibrant community of Dover alive to such as me and are clearly appreciated for your personality and outlook here in the nether-world of the internet and in person around and about.
Should you find it the least bit awkward to respond to the pleas from those who you know please accept what I, a stranger to your person, have to add...

I've thought about your post ever since last night and you know you and I are very alike. I stopped posting a while ago because I was fed up with my posts being deleted every time I criticized VM, who i don't like and make no secret of that. However I still looked at DF every day because it really is a wonderful place to find out all things local, and also the rest of the members, you included, are lovely people who I enjoy reading. I don't go to the meet ups because I'm very self concious about being overweight, but I have met some of the others at various times. I met Paul and Collette at one of the very first DF evenings when Rick was still onboard and they are both lovely people.
Like you I get upset if people are "nasty" to or about me and I vow never to post again but I always do. I have learnt now to just ignore anything to do with VM and not let him wind me up and you must do the same with KS. You are a lovely lovely person with a fantastic loving family and your views are just as important as anyone elses, more so in some cases. Please stay Mel, I know I'm not the only one who enjoys your humour and views on here. Maybe if you get upset you could email me and let off steam, and I could do the same with you - might be a laugh lol. But whatever you do, keep your head up girl - watch Big Brother and X factor (I do too hehe!) and keep posting. There were 5 local members present, 3 members from other branches were invited, and I was there as an observer.
Nine in all.
It was a pleasant snug evening, all said and told.
