After much soul searching i have decided that im leaving the forum , i have never felt that i fitted in here sadly and i really cant be bothered bitting my tongue where keith sansum is concerned he has pushed me out of many things and here is one of them . I wish you all luck in life as i move on with mine . thankyou to the boss and the good friends i have made from here. People who wish to stay in contact can get me on my email or on facebook, takecare all xxxxxxxxxx
A couple of questions: what did Keith do? And why announce and not simply stop posting? Genuine questions.

hard to imagine keith getting the wrong side of anybody, except for blue barry of course.
Also, on your announcement of this on FB Kathy Bailes has "liked" it. Why? Enough DF stuff ends up nabbed on the local press, why would Kathy Bailes "like" someone leaving it?

Melissa
I am not sure what to say. I must get up more peoples noses on the forum than anybody else but most of it is in good humour or to provoke discussion. If you don't agree with a persons viewpoint then state yours but don't cave in.
Your contribution is as valid as anyone elses so please reconsider your decision to leave the DF. As for Keith it would be harder to find a more placid polite chap.
Marek
I think therefore I am (not a Tory supporter)

couldn't agree more with the last post, we all have our own styles that others get used to.
every member is as valued as the next.

I like someone going onwards and upwards, nothing to do with leaving the forum and we rarely use stuff from the forum in the Express these days, if you read the paper you would know that.

it means I pressed the like button because of the onwards and upwards comment and it means Bern has a bee in her bonnet about me for reasons known only to herself

Seem to be a few prickles around this evening, is the miserable summer getting to us.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Melissa, as a member of Dover, your view is important to Dover. The Forum is one way of participating in social Dovorian life, and I find your posts pleasant.
No bees, Kathy, just questions. Like journos often have to ask.

This wasn't really a question more of a barbed statement directed at me purely because you felt like it. If you really wanted an answer you could have asked me but that "question" clearly is about me not to me

Pistols at dawn I think!
As a relative newcomer to the forum, but someone who has been reading it for some time, it does seem that things get a bit personal at times. And, as I have just commented on another thread, it is open to everyone to see, so people from all over the world can form an opinion on Dover and its residents by reading this. As regards "enough DF stuff ends up nabbed on the local press", surely that's all part of a journalist's job and Kathy and any other journalists - local and national - are entitled to report whatever is said on here, as it's in the public domain. Perhaps we need to bear that in mind when we put finger to keyboard!
I think the usual response is "no comment" ?
Actually, to be honest, it is nothing to do with you Kathy, as an individual. Genuinely. I don't know you. But as we all see, comment is free. Or it was.
Absolutely, my comments are not about any one personality, more a reflection on free comment, journalism, and our current environment. And as Jim points out, when we put finger to keyboard all of us share a responsibility - journalists who have more access to attention perhaps more than most.
