 - Cllr Lamoon town councillor
 Cllr Jones Town Councillor
Mrs Angel Wife to Mr Angel the Dover jeweller

for info If your not interested that's sad as forumites want councillors to post your post hardly encourages it

 - Some interesting responses - thank you. Some equally are very defensive, ranging from the just plain stroppy to the blatantly puerile. On the subject of volunteers for the Love Dover team, does anyone know if there have been any genuine volunteers? The inference from some posters is that the new intake might have been co-opted and are previously associated with DTC.

Keith - I have asked these questions before on more than one occasion. I'd be happy to email you and take this aspect of things away from the public domain, if you're genuinely concerned. That said, it appears from our previous exchange that you don't check your inbox regularly.

From the link that Neil sent, it seems that a charitable trust has now been established with defined objectives. Presumably then the limited company is now dormant. The Charity Commission records the trust board as having one recorded director - Mr Simon Cowley and two volunteers (as previously mentioned) - The Mayor and the Town Clerk.

 - At this time this is correct Stuart but I'm hearing the above 3 self appointed have appointed I presume by the other 3?

The concern I have and have questioned throughout and continue to question is the accountability of this group.

Before I joined the council(August)the council agreed the £350,000 now, the rights and wrongs of this in itself is an issue.
In Oct/Nov I questioned this report and the Mayor gave a wonderful speech on the group, which was all fine, what he didn't say was that he was about to be become a trustee as was the clerk and it was going to become a charity and the Town council will lose all control of the dosh.

The only accountability of this body is through the charity commission.

hope this answers your question Stuart but if not by means e mail me or we can meet for a coffee(I don't bite)

 - Thank you, Keith. So if I understand the latest information correctly (based upon the Charity Commission website and the above postings, the Love Dover charity is run by 1 director (Mr Crowley) and 5 further volunteers - the Mayor, the Town Clerk, Ms. Jones, Mr Lamoon and Mrs Angel. Of this group, 2 members (Mr Crowley and Mrs Angel) have not direct accountability to the DTC. - Jan Higgins likes this

 - Surely if the choice of trustees had been made, those who applied and failed would have been informed by now and I haven't been.

Definitely, manners cost nothing.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

 - Thanks Ross, let's hope some people throw their hat in the ring. Instead of casting aspersions behind a keyboard they might do something worthwhile and productive. - Guest 1385 likes this

Why on earth would you want to delete public statements?
