Paid my second visit to the White Horse, and had the enormous pleasure of meeting Jeanette, and having a very pleasant afternoon in there with a steady stream of customers. As one left, another arrived. What a lovely bubbly lady she is, lovely smile and lovely to talk to. Thank you Jeanette, see you again soon. This was your establishment just before I came in.

A couple of over 18 lads from Luxembourg. Spoke very good English, and invited them back, and bring their freinds with them. Thank you again Jeanette, lovely afternoon spent in there. Nice to meet DT1 and other half as well. Enjoy your drink Andy, sorry you weren`t there.

Don't see any microphones Colin, you sure they're from Radio Luxembourg?

Sid, when I enquired where they were from, and they said Luxembourg, I did my quip about radio luxembourg, but I think that was a bit before their time.

Yes, good to meet you Colin. Glad we managed to avoid your camera. Enjoyed a cider in the garden...it really is a lovely pub and Jeanette is a great landlady.
The bar snacks on a Sunday elevate it to a 'proper pub' even though olives feature!

You too DT1, and your other half. It was Chardonnay for me this time, very cool and pleasant for that very warm summer`s day yesterday. I think after the few glasses of wine, I forgot the camera. As Howard says above, and other members, Jeanette is very pleasant to meet and talk to. I`m sure I`ll be there again very soon.

Didn`t need an opticians today, Jeanette sorted my glasses out. I did mention to her that it`s a pity, she`s a bit out of the way for the cruise line passenger`s. How many American`s would just love to visit an old British pub?

There were some tourists in the other night - they loved the graffiti (and the pub of course) but didn't have a clue what it was about. Maybe the Dover Tourist Board

should consider producing some leaflets to let visitors to the pub know. Perhaps these could also be handed out at the port. Just an idea.

Great to meet Terry Nunn this afternoon at The White Horse, and to find Jeanette again with her very welcoming smile. What a very warm and pleasant afternoon to round off the day. Thank you both very much.

I first imagined the pub garden to be a patch of grass with a few parasols, but totally taken aback by what I saw this afternoon. Get down there now, forget the world and it`s trouble`s for a while.
