i suppose if our susan had a car, we would check the boot to see if his trussed up body is there.
failing that a pub crawl of dover might find him.
any other suggestions from forum members?

Have a word with Phil and he can re-call the F.O.N.C. reservists.

I found out these interesting facts on Nigel's Myspace blog
General Dislikes
reptiles, likes real ale and transport issues. Likes Nigella Lawson I'm led to believe, see he's only human!
Music
Patriotic classical I expect. Used to jitterbug to the doodlebugs, and has a soft spot for Peters and Lee's 'Welcome Home'.
Films
Nigel is too busy with local politics to have time to go to the cinema, but he enjoys the free public information films he organises up at Connaught Park each summer. He's organised Ice Age 2 and Meet the Robinsons to date...cheers Nigel! Consulting the files, we believe the last film Nigel saw at the cinema was the 1933 King Kong. He dismissed it as 'utter tosh'.
Television
News 24, Question Time, Al-Jazera TV....Doctor Who, but nothing after William Hartnell.
Books
Hansard. Proceedings of the Kent County Council enquiry into Dover District Highways and Municiple Works (1986) Part XIIb + Annexes (as amended). Vic Matcham's Life Story.
Heroes
Winston Churchill, Sir Antony Eden, Walter Raleigh, River Parish Cllr Sue Nicholas, Ming the Merciless. Vic Matcham.

Marek
I think therefore I am (not a Tory supporter)

Does seem strange a guy that is or was critical when others didnt post, and accusations flew around that parties were stopping people posting
and here we have nigel making one of the biggest clangers ever, in danger of being wiped off the map
and he disappears.
Strange way to deal with things
bet he will be back leading up to the election=
isnt he the organiser.
hope so lol

There was a Neighbourhood Forum meeting at the Town Council offices last night, as many of you who receive my emails would have known - didn't see any of yoyu there so presumably you either read and forget them or just delete them when they come through.
It was a good meeting from the information given out point of view, but not from the audiences point of view - more officials and Councillors than members of the public.
I can't see them continuing if people can't be bothered to come along - it was all about helping people after all.
Apathy rules.
Nigel was in attendance there.

Roger
I receive your emails and don't delete them before reading them, ever. I find them an invaluable source of knowledge and I'm grateful to you - so please don't think your hard work is not appreciated. As for the Neighbourhood Forum thing last night, I for one just couldn't make it as I had appointments elsewhere; for me, weekdays rarely end end before 8pm and last night was no exception. We got through the door at 9.45pm last night; I did manage to put aside 20 minutes for myself at The White Horse, though!
Talking of The White Horse, that's actually where I last saw Nigel!
True friends stab you in the front.
Roger, I too always read your messages; heck I even read them when in Lagos!
However, DTC Neighbourhood Forum = Another opportunity for politicos to jaw jaw, when what Joe Public wants is visible action.
You can bet your bottom dollar, the minute JP starts to make those forums uncomfortable for the elected masses, they will find a reason to stop holdiong them.

couldn't agree more sid, did they not have one a while back asking people what sites they wanted sprucing up?
why ask, they are visible to all.

Thank you Andy and Sid - the fact you read them is appreciated and makes it worthwhile doing them.
You're right Howard, they are visible to all, but that isn't the main point, the main point is that although we all know what and where they are, to get anything done needs a plan.
I had made a list of every that I felt needed attention and I have been working on that list; now I have been asked, as Dover Business Support Manager, to write a Plan of Action to get things done - on aspects of what is wrong with Dover Town.
In case I miss anything, I'm more than happy for you all to put your concerns and ideas on here, so if I haven't included them in my plan, I will take your ideas on board if at all possible.

If we all had your negativity Brian, people wouldn't even start.
There's a lot right with Dover, it's the grot-spots (and every Town has them) that need working on; I'm not spending my time on areas/sites that are being worked on by developers and planning officers; it's the ones that no one is looking at, that need attention.

roger,i was looking on the posative side here.agree the place needs tideing up but where better than the ground upwards.
Dover IS lovely but there are glaring areas of need and most of the local reps are not very good at this. Roger is a notable exception. Roger - apologies for not being very visible at local meetings. I do care fervently about Dover and am committed to its progress, but most of my work takes me on long daily commutes and what free time I have is usually taken up with personal committments. If I could be of use remotely I would be happy to contribute, and I do plug away via email and paper correspondence behind the scenes.
