Barryw
not the case at all
freemasons used to be able(not today as they have lost a lot of there powers)
to black list people, and on a job interview because of there secrecy you would never know this was happening in the background.
sadly they still choose to be secret, as yes I would always be concerned abut how many fingers I had left if I ever shook there hands, but often you wouldn't know you had met one.
but in later years I had free masons come to me to do case work for them where they admitted they had lost the power of influence they once had

My husband was passed over for promotion to officer for years simply because he did not want to be a mason, he was told this by someone who was a mason who told him he should have joined. Someone who did join got their promotion the following season, coincidence I think not.
Luckily I do not believe this would happen now in the way it used to but any group will always help their 'friends' rather than an outsider.

All in good time Howard......
My Father was in the same lodge as the Duke of Edinburgh.
Google Duke of Edinburgh and the Freemasons ......then click on A list of notorious British Freemasons
and Bilderberg attendees......or if you prefer I can c&p............

serious stuff reg, doctor shipman and mention of gary glitter then gets really serious with the likes of jeremy beadle, bob monkhouse and a man who derived pleasure from sticking his hand up an optically challenged bear.

they did have a lot of power

most chief police are freemasons
